A little slice of paradise!
Publié le 9 mars 2023 sur HomeAwayWe had an awesome vacation and highly recommend this property. We rented the upper floor and the view from the deck was incredible, with palm trees, white sand and a myriad of blues in the ocean waters. The sunsets were spectacular and stars were bright with little light pollution. The snorkeling right off the beach was amazing. The water was so clear that it felt like we were swimming in an aquarium. The fish were colorful and plentiful. The food on the island was delicious and we especially liked the Captain's Table. We had fun visiting the caves and sighting the endangered Brown Bobies and endangered Brac Parrot. We went in February and the weather was absolutely perfect! The home was super comfortable and clean. It was stocked with everything you could want. Henry and Sasha were super helpful with everything, even air and car reservations! The property was incredible. It had an 80 degree crystal clear pool, 2 tandem kayaks, life vests and fins in all different sizes. Our neighbors took the kayaks out to the wreck off our beach and said the water was so clear you could see the 60 feet down to the Russian warship. We enjoyed relaxing in the two person hammocks under the tiki hut. It was an incredible place to relax, unwind and enjoy. We hope we have the opportunity to return to this home--it is truly a slice of paradise!

Exceeded expectations
Publié le 19 mars 2022 sur HomeAwayAdvertised well, and this was better than advertised. Only issue is the beach is not sandy at the waters edge, but rocky. Other than that everything was wonderful. Sasha and Henry were perfect hosts.

Beautiful Spot – Quiet and Friendly Island
Publié le 16 déc. 2018 sur HomeAwayWe had an amazing stay! The information sent before we came from Henry was excellent and picking up our car at the airport was seamless.
The house was great- lots of room and great view of the ocean, and the pool, from the large deck. Bring your water shoes or dive boots (warn with open back fins) with you for water entry.
We dove from shore and with Brac Scuba Shack and had a marvelous experience. People on the island are amazingly friendly. The house was great to come ‘home’ to and the beach area was great to watch sunsets from.
We used the bicycles and toured around a bit. We also had a car and hiked the trail by the light house a couple of times. We had come from 10 days on Grand Cayman. We so enjoyed the friendly, quiet island and the amazing house that had everything we needed.
We wanted to try the paddle boards but waited too long and the sea got a bit rough to try…..next time!
We used the grill outside for one evening and cooked on the GAS range the other nights- except for our first nigh we went to Barry’s Jerk Chicken and it was great. We brought some food with us from Grand Cayman and wanted to use it.
We plan to flip our trip next time and spend 10 days on Brac and 7 on Grand Cayman!!
Thanks to Henry and Sasha!

Great house, beautiful view and very relaxing
Publié le 17 nov. 2018 sur HomeAwayThe house is great...very spacious and comfortable. We stayed in the upstairs unit. It has 2 queen beds in the bedroom separated by a curtain, so technically 4 people could stay in one room if you don't need privacy, but for 2 people, the house was perfect. We really enjoyed the pool. Took the kayak out one day when it was calm. Loved the hamocks and the sunsets. My only complaint is that the shoreline is very rocky and full of coral and urchins. It was very difficult to get in and out of the water to go snorkeling right by the house. Water shoes are a must and then you have to try to put on your fins with the small waves and currents knocking you into the coral. If you're not a diver there isn't a whole lot to do on Cayman Brac. Getting in and out of the water for snorkelers is probably easier on Grand Cayman. Next trip we will probably divide our time between the 2 islands. The only reason I gave the house 4 stars is because lounge chairs (both the wooden ones and the plastic ones) are in great disrepair. We didn't try the bicycles so I can't comment on those. Sasha made us dinner one night and it was delicious...highly recommend! I would recommend getting a car which we did just for the convenience of getting groceries and finding good restaurants. Recommend Barry's jerk chicken, Barracuda's Bar for pizza and the Captains Table for Tuesday Taco night. It was a beautiful place to spend 9 days!

This information is for your next trip and making the snorkeling more enjoyable. Also I wish you would have let us know that you had difficulty we would have educated you to make sure you didn't have issues.
First, we have high quality water-shoes if you don't have your own. Any urchins will not puncture the shoes we have.
Second, if the water is not calm enough then go down to Buccaneers Cut just 1/4 of a mile away - it has a ladder entry or to Scotts' Dock which is 1/2 of a mile away.
Note: Our beach is sandy - the coral rocks are at the water line and in the water. It is one of the best beaches on the island.
If you take your time to enter the water you'll be fine. Let any little waves go by - with the water being so crystal clear you can see exactly where your next steps will be. So take two or three steps, stop, let the wave go by and when the bubbles clear go ahead and take a few more steps; repeat that process. If you have a snorkel partner then hold hands to give you more stability if its a little wavy. DO NOT JUST MARCH OUT INTO THE WATER! So you walk out until you're almost CHEST HIGH in the water and find a nice sandy spot and put your fins on and away you go. Do not attempt to put your fins on in shallow water especially when there are waves - Thats a bad recipe. IMPORTANT - when your finished remember to take your fins off when you're in chest deep water and in one of the many sandy areas. If you try to take your fins off in waist deep water or less and a wave comes it can knock you over - not good. Also when you walk into the shore line stop for all waves and spread your feet, hold hands, let the wave go by and repeat. KEEP AN EYE on the waves behind you and stop walking before it reaches you.
I know others have had issues but when they understand how to enter properly and why - they seem to be just fine.
When I left 3 weeks ago all the plastic loungers were fine. I'll find out what the issue is when I return next week. Out of the dozen wood loungers we moved 2 out of use because they had broken hinges. the other ten were fine. If you lift the back there are flip up stops so that you can set the desired angle of the back. There are also cushion on the deck boxes and I'm wondering if you found them.
I guess knowledge is power. Please if you have issues in the future just ask and we'll get things sorted out.
