Cozy Sand Rd. Apartment next to Tioga State Forest Close to Grand Canyon of Pa

Sand Road Apartment is on a dirt road that passes thru Tioga State Forest. This is a wild area of Pennsylvania. The apartment is constructed and on the second floor of a garage seperat from the owners residence. A carpeted stairway leads to the kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom (shower) . Couples or singles are welcomed at the Sand Road apartment. A nice location to begin many activities from. Hike the trails across the road. Consult the Tioga State Forest map or a local trail guidebook and you will find a variety of beautiful hikes. Head down the mountain to the Rails To Trails bike trail for some flat bicycle riding thru some of the nicest scenery anywhere including The Grand Canyon Of Pennsylvania. Pine Creek nearby offers good trout fishing in the spring or canoeing, kayaking or white water rafting with the outfitters. Lakes nearby offer good fishing in all seasons. You will not be far from the town of Wellsboro. Whether its dining , entertainment (surprisingly good at The Deane Center ), shopping or just sitting on the town green, you balance your stay with a little getting back to civilization. You also have the option of easy highway access (roughly an hour north ) to tour Corning, Watkins Glenn, or the wine country around the Finger Lakes. Golf courses are reasonably close. Also it is worthy to note a number of annual activities held. The "Green Monster" running race passes thru the forest across the road from here in addition to mountain bike races. Driving thru the forest, you may see a variety of wildlife including deer, turkey, bears, coyote (mostly you just hear them at night) bobcats (maybe a fleeting glimpse) and grouse, chipmunks etc. The apartment sets on the second floor of a garage separate from the owners residence. There is a deck to relax on and a fire pit. If you have come on a motorcycle you are welcome to park in the shed over nite. Again , note the apartment is on the second floor. A carpeted stairway leads to the kitchen, living room, bedroom,, bathroom (shower), and laundry room (washer,dryer, and slop sink ). We welcome everyone including nature lovers, hikers, bicyclists, motorcyclists, hunters, fishermen, snowmobilers, canoers and kayakers. Make this your home away from home !

This property is about 25 minutes from Wellsboro but the drive is beautiful. We were able to get to the Rail Trail near Darling Run pretty easily from here. The accomodations are perfect and lots of homey touches! Hosts were hospitible and friendly!

Easy to feel at home here
I lucked upon this apartment for a work-related stay but feel so comfortable and at home here, I'll return just for leisure time when I need a personal retreat. The area offers many opportunities for exploring, and can't wait to do more of that. The property location is just the right amount off the beaten path. The views outside are picturesque and serene, and the inside is pristine and so well-crafted. The hosts, Tom and Aine, have a special knack for creating this quaint, comfortable, and restful space -- a craftsman-meets-rustic vibe -- with lots of lovely little details. They are lovely people, and so are the pooches and cats.

Perfect little apartment near PA Grand Canyon
This is a wonderful place to stay, with easy access to Wellsboro, PA, the Grand Canyon, and interesting back roads of northern PA. Tom and Aine are welcoming and helpful. The apartment has everything that one needs and there is also a little deck for outdoor lounging and a fire pit. After busy days, it was like coming home to return to the apartment in the evenings.

Wellsboro trip
My husband and I usually stay in Wellsboro , but saw the VRBO add and couldn’t resist. The place was about 8 miles off the main road, we got there about 20 minutes before check in. We pulled in the long drive and Aine Byrne was coming out to greet us. I can’t say enough about our visit for our wedding anniversary. Everything was perfect . The apartment was top notch. Clean and so beautifully decorated. The mattress was comfortable and the apartment was well stocked with snacks, coffee and water. Aine and Tom were so hospitable and we enjoyed talking with them. They have 3 loving Dogs that you will fall in love with. We did the trail through the woods across the road and the pipeline access road. We will definitely be back for another visit.

2nd Stay Just as Great as First
We love staying at the Sand Rd. Apartment. This was our second stay here. Even though we had some bad weather it was still a good get-away. Tom and Aine are great and thoughtful hosts. They are full of knowledge about the area. The apartment is clean and comfortable. We love the peace and quiet of the area. We will be back!

Beautiful Stay
Our goal was to have a relaxing long weekend, explore the region, and do that with a clean, comfortable place to call "home". The cozy Sand Road Apartment did all of those things. Clean... is an understatement. It was immaculate. Everything that we needed was there, and there was even a supply of coffee, snacks, and water when we arrived. The site is beautiful! On top of a mountain, where the only sound at night is the air through the trees. Waking in the morning was so relaxing... cup of coffee, sitting out on the deck, just enjoying the sweet fresh air. Tom and Aine, the hosts are wonderfully warm, easy to talk to people. I can't say enough about how I enjoyed our conversations, and all of their hospitality. Thank you, we'll be back!!

tranquil getaway, nature lovers dream
This was the most spotless stay we have ever had. The host and hostess are extremely thoughtful and made sure to make us feel welcome, but were careful to also allow us the privacy we wanted for our anniversary getaway. Perfect balance! Anything we needed this place had. We forgot our hotdog forks, and they got some right to us! Loved the private campfire area and porch with rockers. Beautiful view with deer and song birds. Even the flowers and landscaping were perfect. Extremely well cared for. It is a bit away from the biggest town of Wellsboro so plan on driving or cooking here. We did a bit of both. This is the place to bring a book and reconnect with nature. Day trips to Watkins Glen, Finger Lakes, wineries were wonderful. Local canyon and Pine Creek were also fantastic. Even a horse ride close by.. Perfect place if this is the type of vacation you are looking for. Thank you so much!! You have a stunning place!

Tom and Anja were wonderful hosts! Cozy sand road is a perfect title to this Vrbo rental. We had the most amazing time on our fishing trip and having this place to stay made it perfect and stress free. Super accommodating, knowledgeable and personable. They made sure you had everything you needed to be comfortable. Inside the Tioga State forest and the most relaxing and beautiful property! We will absolutely be staying here again!
