Group fishing

Posted Jun. 25, 2024 on HomeAwayThe size of the accommodations was perfect for our family. The beds were clean and comfortable for all. The floors needed vacuuming. The kitchen utensils needed to be rewashed before use. The oven and stove were filthy. The go carts were a big attraction but seldom open. Saturday the operator arrived at noon and didn’t open at all on Sunday. The days he did open it was only a few hrs and then he left. Disappointing as it was a big sale point when choosing where we stayed. The office not opening until 4 pm when you have long stay guests is annoying and frustrating when people have to wait for someone to man the desk.

NOT DISABILITY FRIENDLY
Posted Mar. 17, 2024 on HomeAwayAlthough the pictures were almost exact, except it doesn't show the many disadvantages for a person with disabilities, such as wheelchair bound individuals. (Brother- guest) The entire weekend, he could not bathe, or upkeep his hygiene, like brushing his teeth, wash hands or use the restroom to relieve himself, due to small doorway entrances, or a long metal pole in middle of floor of the restroom (floor to ceiling) . He also didn't have access to kitchen to eat
because of stairs, without assistance and being lifted. We continued our stay, nevertheless, due to financial funds being limited.
The staff was very nice.

The unit is ground floor as stated in the details but it is not advertised as ADA accessible. I have updated the listing to state that it is not ADA accessible to help this misunderstanding not happen in the future. I have also added a note that there is two steps up into the kitchen.

The main area was spacious enough rooms to fit our purpose. Dining are was too small place need to be clean better. Overall this place served its purpose for our group

A great home base for our family vacation
Posted Jul. 27, 2023 on HomeAwayThe rental was spacious and fit our teen/adult children comfortably. The lounge area had plenty of seating, and our younger kids enjoyed the board games provided. The staff was so friendly and helpful! Definitely recommend.

Not clean
Posted Jul. 1, 2023 on HomeAwayWithin the first 5 minutes we find a pill in one of the rooms took it to front desk. They replied oh we know who’s it is just an antihistamine it’s ok. He had a two and four year old with us.
Later that night another pill in a different room…excedrine.
Bathrooms were very wet and leaky, hall carpet was soaked the whole time in one spot. It’s obvious there was a leak somewhere. The shower was moldy and black around caulking. Kitchen table was sticky and there wasn’t any way to really dry the dishes after washing them. The coffee pot was as though it has never been cleaned, we ended up buying one to use because theirs was just too dirty.
Daily had to take towels to the office and requested clean ones. They only allowed so many kitchen towels (3) and you had to ask for paper towels, toilet paper and even garbage bags for the garbage cans.
The amount of space was amazing and the manager was friendly and helpful as one of the toilets broke.
If this place was a little cleaner and not so hard to obtain the things you need to help keep it clean then we would definitely make this a yearly spot.

Staff recognized the pill as an antihistamine by the markings on it not that they knew who’s it was. Staff reported that they had checked under all the beds during cleaning and vacuumed all the floors, nothing was under the beds or on the floors prior to guests arrival. Our excellent cleaning staff will continue to carefully check under all furniture and vacuum and clean and sanitize per our cleaning check lists.
A slow leak in the water pipe in the men’s bathroom was found and repaired two days into the guests stay. That was not leaking previous to guests arrival and is no longer leaking. The women’s bathroom toilet was shattered by the guest and has already been replaced.
The shower surround is old and has some staining and issues and is in need of replacing. We have that replacement planned for later in the summer when there is a break in the schedule. It has been scrubbed and sanitized before each guests arrival.
There is a dish draining rack under the kitchen sink for guests to use to dry dishes.
Coffee pot is cleaned regularly and we will inspect and replace if needed.
We provide basic use items for max 15 guests as stated in our listing. This group brought 21 guests.
