Great location at beautiful cabin
Publié le 2 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had a fun stay at this cabin with our daughters and dog. We would recommend to others. Beautiful wood throughout comfy bed in master, nice having two baths, kayaks, fire pit.

Peaceful Getaway
Publié le 27 août 2024 sur HomeAwayIt's right at the heart fo the Hiawatha Forest situated next to a small lake but still close to Pictured Rocks and to a few nice trails that are only few minutes away.We enjoyed the peace and quiet this place offered.The Morning and Sunset Kayaks were the best to experience the lake,enjoyed the bonfire too in the cooling temp at night.Indian river is only few minutes drive for when you want to explore more with kayaks too .Perfect location for what we needed.It's spotless,especially the kitchen which we used in our enitre stay :) .Patio was very nice, with comfortable chair,enjoyed our morning coffee while watching the sun rise.We will definitely come back!Alot more to explore!

Too hot.
Publié le 12 août 2024 sur HomeAwayNo AC. Not mentioned in advertisements. If you stay during the summer, be prepared for the potential of 80-85 degree indoor temps. That said, I’d imagine this is a wonderful and comfortable place to stay in the cooler months. Great secluded location. Well equipped for cooking and enjoying the lake. We would stay here again, but would probably bring portable AC in the event hotter temps arise.

Best place in Munising!
Publié le 3 oct. 2023 sur HomeAwayWe've been coming to Munising off and on for the past 20+ years. We've stayed at hotels, motels, apartments, cabins, etc. But this is the best place we've stayed -- BY FAR!
It's exactly as advertised, except it's on 21 acres instead of 14. Plenty of area to explore, checkout wildlife, and have some adventures. The pier is great for fishing, and the jon boat and kayaks allow exploration of the lake.
The house is plenty large and the kitchen well equipped. It's a short drive to Pictured Rocks and Munising.
Lisa and the management team are great to work with and very responsive. Thank you for making our getaway easy and carefree!
All in all, I dare you to find a better place to stay in the Munising area. We are already planning a return trip and look forward to the privacy, comfort, and enjoyment this cabin/location has to offer.
Sadly, I could only give a 5-star rating. If a 10-star rating were available, that would be my score. Seriously, the place can't be beat!

Worst Property and very bad experience
Publié le 6 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayWe had a terrible experience staying at this property, that too on a hefty price. Feeling cheated by VRBO and the property owner.
The property had zero maintenance and cheapest furniture. The bedsheet, towels, blanket, pillow covers everything were dirty and cheap quality. Mattresses would feel to be made up of just spring without any cushion and were very uncomfortable. Couches were also spring only and seemed 30 years old and dirty. Pillow covers had women hairs and stain marks on it. I got skin irritations and rashes after using the sheets.
The backyard lawn area was full of dog poops and you cannot walk in the lawn to get to the lake. You cannot use grills, as the grill was very dirty and rusted and was situated in the middle of the same backyard with dog poops.
There is no AC and it was very hot during our stay, so this was also a real bad experience. The Kitchen vent was not working. The ceiling light was not working in one of the room.
Overall, I would say that the property was not at all maintained or cleaned properly and our stay was really a bad experience.
People go on vacation to enjoy and relax but we got more stressed I would say. That too after paying a good amount as the property rate was way too expensive for such a bad experience. We could have changed the property but it was just two days stay and we already paid a good amount, so just tolerated everything. I would give zero star and will not recommend this to anybody unless they maintain well.

Thanks for your review, we are sorry you had a negative experience and wish you would have contacted us during your stay so we could've helped you.
The guests were at the cabin for 4 days (not two) and we checked in with them upon arrival to make sure all was ok and then we heard from them the morning of their departure. Due to the language barrier and first time visit to the U.P., this group may not have completely understood the location and amenities of this cabin.
There are wild geese in the area and it was their droppings in the yard, not "dog poops". It seems these guests fed the geese, so it's likely they hung around the property.
The cabin is cleaned after each guest and was clean prior to this guest's arrival including all bed linens, towels and all areas of the cabin.
The grill is a campground style charcoal grill and is very durable and great for grilling. Since it is exposed to the environment it tends to show rust when not used frequently but it's very easy to use the provided grill brush once you start a fire, prior to grilling.
There is no A/C here nor is it advertised as having A/C. We have fans in each room for when it is warm.
Mattresses are spring mattresses not foam. The kitchen vent works, but you have to turn it on. There are extra bulbs when a light burns out.

A quiet getaway
