LLC-Peaceful, Lakefront Cabin Near Munising with Canoe & Rowboat

Visit the Hiawatha National Forest and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore while you nestle up in the pines on this cozy lake cottage. Just 7 miles south of Munising and close to bike and hiking trails you can adventure this summer and fall heading any direction. End your evening in front of the cozy fireplace inside or firepit outside while the kids roast their smores. Canoe and row boat available on the lake. No beach on this property as the water table is high this year but you can explore the lake with plenty of swimming and fishing. This is an all sports lake. Cabin does not have a boat launch, however, there is a trail and steps to access lake from the cottage.

Nice little cabin
We loved the lake and the fact that there was nice hiking close by. We brought our tandem foot-pedal kayak and enjoyed paddling around the lake. Too bad that the fishing was poor.

First trip to UP— fall color tour.
Wasn’t sure what to expect on first trip to UP. Was able to run in the beautiful natural area every morning, then on to hiking and other activities and tours nearby, then back to a comfortable cabin and cozy fire.

Comfy cabin on a big lake.
Cabin was exceptionally clean -- spotless, in fact -- and the perfect home away from home. Despite its relatively small size, the cabin had a spacious deck in the back with a grill, hammock, and table & chairs, as well as a kitchen stocked with appliances. The television was very easy to use (don't let the other reviews scare you). The fireplace was perfect for the nights that got chilly. The beds were comfy, and the deck extending into the lake was very cool. The cabin's location was ideal too: right on the lake and very quiet, yet only a few miles from the town of Munising. The only nitpick I can think of is pretty trivial, but if you aren't used to well water, bring your own water, because it definitely tastes and smells like well water. We would not hesitate at all to stay at this cabin again if we are ever in the amazing upper peninsula of Michigan again. Very highly recommended.

Nice place: comfortable and great location. I don't like pedestal sink in the bathroom---no place to put toothbrush or other things used at the sink. The TV did not work as advertised. I could not use my streaming apps and no help was provided. There are still people who need technical assistance with "smart TVs" but non was offered.

Beautiful rustic/modern cabin on the lake
Great little cabin with everything you need. A nice lake with a paddle boat and canoe to a full kitchen. Cabin was beautifully decorated with the bear/country decor. Nice fireplace when it's cold outside and nice fireplace outside when the weather is nice. I will definitely return for any vaca rentals I need in the future.

Nice little cabin
Had a week trip to explore the UP with my siblings. The cabin was small but nice, right on a lake where we drank our coffee every morning. It was in decent proximity to Pictured Rocks and the other places where we wanted to go. We also had bon fires every evening and the neighborhood cat (fyi it has claws) would come and chill with us.

Great experience
We loved our stay at the cabin and Lost Lake. We had great paddles and fishing on Lost Lake itself and it was convenient to the inland lakes, hiking, and Lake superior. Our only issue with the cabin was that it smelled of smoke regardless of opening windows, etc. The view of the lake in the evening was wonderful. We would love to come back!

Lovely cabin on beautiful lake. Despite the rainy weather we enjoyed a cozy fire, mist off the lake each morning and easy access to town and Pictured Rock. What a perfect getaway.

Quiet and breathtaking
The view and boat access is AMAZING. All around, my stay at this property was wonderful. The only reason I left a 4 on communication with property was because they use an outside source for rental confirmation etc. while I do support this, It did confuse me a little bit on where to private message the owners. They ask not to use the Vrbo chat but I ended up using it anyways because I’m not good with tech. They responded with good timing and were helpful, so there was still customer service, but I gave it a 4 due to the clutter, in my opinion. I had 0 issues during my stay and enjoyed several hot showers, home cooked meals on the stove, and watched Castaway in their little pile of movies available :) my husband and I took a canoe out onto the lake to watch the sunset and see the stars come out. It was beautiful. I don’t go to the Yoop often, but would definitely stay here again when I go back up in the munising area.

Wonderful cabin to get away!!! Kids enjoyed getting on the lake and the gorgeous night sky. Felt like you could touch the stars from the deck. Perfect cabin for us. Owners very responsive when we ran into an issue. They took care of it ASAP.

Lost Lake Stay
Overall the cabin was great. The cabin's description and the pictures were accurate. The area around the cabin was generally quiet and well-kept except for the cabin to the south of the cabin. Enjoyed having dinner out of the deck listening to the peace and quiet. The cabin is convenient to multiple hiking trails and water falls. GPS did get a little confused about 0.2 of a mile from the cabin. After you pass the group of mailboxes, look for the private road sign. Continue past the private road sign where the road curves to the right. If you make a sharp left turn you will end up on a portion of Lost Lake Road that is barely wide enough for a mid-sized truck to use without having the sides brushing up against trees. Lost Lake Road heads in multiple directions near the lake. Cell service, at least for me, was a little spotty so calling the property manager was not an option. The vinyl in the kitchen and dining area was a little dirty. Only noticed it because I had to wipe up a small spill. A few moths did make it inside. I think they came in the cabin because the window where the window air conditioner is doesn't appear to have anything to prevent bugs/insects from flying/crawling between the top and bottom window sash. Didn't use the canoe, paddle boat or kayaks. The refrigerator, which sits just a few feet from the bedroom doors, is a little on the noisy side. If you are a light sleeper, this may bother you. Overall If I'm in the Munising area again and this cabin is available, I would stay at it again.
