I completely agree—the location is fantastic, an easy drive to Pictured Rocks, and it’s wonderful to hear you found the property so clean. Lisa truly is a top-notch cleaner, and her attention to detail is especially appreciated in an older cottage with vintage furnishings. On a positive note, we replaced all of the outdoor chairs in October 2024, so we’re glad to share this update. I also appreciate your feedback on the indoor furniture. We’ll be working closely with the property owner during the offseason to upgrade the furniture and mattresses. I hear your concerns. I'm confused in that either, you, or someone in your party gave Turtle Cove a 5-Star rating on our tablet, which captures the guest's first impression upon arrival. Therefore, we thought you were content with your stay. I apologize you obviously felt differently by the end of your 3-night visit. Turtle Cove has the fishing camp feel of the 1970s. You are right, there are many maintenance issues we will continue to address when the cabin closes late Fall. The truth is that Turtle Cove is polarizing. It is either seen as the ideal, lakefront fishing camp outside of Munising (Pictured Rocks), or it is a disappointment to anyone who is at all particular with home details and updates. The one area you were incorrect is that the large living room window overlooking Town Lake is dirty. It is not. It is actually the broken seal of the double-pane window which has created a look of internal fog, which currently distorts the beautiful view. Replacing the living room window is my #1 priority with the property owner. I'm sorry your view was spoiled as a result. On a much smaller note, the "plaster around the tub" and the dimmer switch were both repaired upon your departure. The fry pan you brought to our attention has been discarded. It is true, Turtle Cove could use a good painting and is in need of new kitchen cabinets. Yes, there are 2 microwaves at the cabin- the one above the stove needs a complete electric overhaul. Therefore, the property owner added an additional, working microwave on the countertop until he can get the built-in microwave rewired. I'm truly sorry we were not able to show you the value, even with a market discount, for this lakefront camp. We wish you all the best in your future travels.
