Not Pet Friendly

Good thing we didn’t end up bringing our dog as my husband stayed home with her because the binder in the suite says the building is not pet friendly even though the VRBO listing in the app says it is pet friendly. Building is old and dormitory like. You need a key to open the garage door. The toilet paper roll holder in the ensuite bathroom fell off when I touched it. Air conditioning was questionable. The living room air-conditioning was good but in the bedroom the hose was hanging out of an open window. No screens on the windows. Well stocked kitchen with all the dishes and things you could possibly need. We had issues with our iPhone chargers, not working and many of the plugs. Although they did randomly work sometimes. Overall it had what we needed.

Thank you for your review. Our unit is pet friend on per request basis. We only allow smaller dogs that are non shedding.
Thank you for pointing out the issue with the toiler paper holder. It has been fixed now.
The new air conditioner in the bedroom was set to fan mode and not air conditioning mode. Yes, the hose simply put out the window. We just installed it and the plexiglass glass hose holder was not ready in time.
She of our wall outlets turn on with switches next to the door so you can turn and off the table lamp. All outlets work.

Great Location To Ski
Publié le 27 déc. 2021 sur HomeAwayI always look for the proximity to the actual slopes for 'ski in, ski out'. For this property, you can access Lower Merlin's through a path that is about 200-300m from the hotel. Very convenient to get to Blackcomb.
Otherwise, the shuttle to the Whistler base (bus #5) stops right outside the hotel.
Great location indeed!

You Only get 2 keys to the front door of the building so be sure someone’s in to open for you. The third room with the bunk beds is tiny. I mean real tiny. Reaaal tiny. And the sofa bed reaaal uncinfortable (old) Coffee maker broken. The other 2 rooms and living rooms were nice. And soacios and bathrooms are beautiful. Good location

Thank you for your review. We replaced the coffee machine but found the one we had was working. Will try and make instructions for machine available for future guests.

Disappointing - dormitory like, poorly outfitted and in need of repairs
Publié le 3 avr. 2018 sur HomeAwayHad a great time in Whistler-Blackcomb - property decently located. Powder Horn condo is dormitory like, little charm and no amenities. Ski storage area is dank, with no tools for fixes.
Unit was poorly outfitted. Broken living room coffee table, master bed, oven draw etc. Lighting in bedrooms is bad, and the kitchen appliances, pots and pans are not sufficient to make good home meals. Property has antiquated entry system for cars, and is poorly decorated thru the building. All that being said, great time, and you live and learn

Thank you for your review. I have asked maintenance to fix the coffee table, bed and replace the over drawer (we just got the part delivered). I have ordered a reading light for the bedroom and will add more pots and pans immediately.
The entry to the underground requires a key - I agree it needs an upgrade and have brought it up with the council.
I have brought up your idea to provide tools to fix skis in the ski locker area. Great idea.

We weren't given a key for the ski lockers and were told our room key should work; other renters had separate keys for the ski lockers. We were told this would be addressed but was not during our stay. Property management attempted to charge us an extra cleaning fee for issues from prior guests. Front desk was less than helpful in getting that resolved and were somewhat antagonistic. Will probably look elsewhere next time in Whistler.

Thanks for your review. We have replaced the closet door - thanks for advising us. We provide our guests locks for their skis and snowboards which are left in the unit. I apologise for the error about the extra cleaning fee issue. The cleaners made an error by reporting the wrong check out date but corrected it before anything was charged. They rarely ever charge for extra cleaning costs but the previous guest left the unit extremely messy taking hours more to clean the unit. Sorry for the mix up.

GREAT STAY - WILL COME BACK AGAIN

- quick walk to the slopes
- clean and cozy space
- all appliances and technology worked well
- clean sheets and towels laid out
- easy to follow instructions AFTER you've checked in
Opportunities:
- check in lady was very confusing to speak with
- clogged toilet upon arrival which we were able to quickly fix
- top bunk in one of the rooms was too close to the ceiling, difficult to get in / out
Would stay again!

Not bad but not amazing
Publié le 4 févr. 2018 sur HomeAwayOverall, we had a good vacation because, you are in Whistler, and there is snow to play with. But there definitely the worst stay I've had here.
1. When we arrived in the unit after our check in time, there was someone doing maintenance. He was doing some caulking in the bathroom and it smelled of chemicals for that entire day. He was also wanting to come back the following day to hang a shelf. Please do this sort of stuff before you have people move in.
2. The walls and floors are thin. We had small kids with us doing small kid stuff such as running around around 5pm and the neighbor downstairs had no patience for that.
On the upside
1. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies.
2. There was a shuttle right outside the door that took us into the village.
3. The hottub upstairs was very nice though it was not working on our first day in.

Publié le 16 janv. 2018 sur HomeAwayWe arrived in whisker a few hours before heck in. But we were not informed of where the check in office was. There was no communication prior to us arriving. It took over an hour for us to find the check in office and get things sorted as no one could find our reservation. We eventually received the email with the check in details. In my opinion This is the type of info you should receive days before your stay. Not 1 1/2 hrs before your earliest check in time. Our stay was good. Location was good. However. This is the major issue I have. We left behind a bathroom bag containing all the usual toiletries. Including my wife’s expensive perfumes and other accessories. I contacted the office the next morning and they had already located the bag. And at my request. Curriored the bag to us the next day. However. When we got the back. It was very evident that the bag had be ransacked as things were not in the compartments that they were suppose to be in. And missing. Was the perfume. Easily valued over $120. I emailed the office again with my concern. The owner of the property and the office were both in communication with me about trying to resolve the issue. The owner assured me that she would be at the apartment within a couple days and check things out for herself. And I would hear back from her. As of the time of this review. I have not heard back from the owner in 10 days.this was our first time in whistler. We got married while we were there. We plan on going back every year for our anniversary. But we won’t be staying here again.

I am sorry that you had all these problems. I sent out an email two weeks before arrival on November 29th regarding the check-in procedure, perhaps the email was in your junk folder? The check-in location is also posted on this website under the description, and in the house rules section. I am also available by phone or email 24-hrs a day if you had any questions.
With regards to your toiletries bag that was left behind, we couriered the item back right away. The housekeepers have checked the condo thoroughly however, unfortunately the perfume is not there. We have used the same housekeepers for 12 years and we have had no issues regarding missing items. They have returned diamond rings, phones and money to guests, sometimes even before the guests noticed they were missing, so it doesn't seem plausible that they would take a half a bottle of perfume right before they courier it back to the owners. Perhaps it was misplaced elsewhere.
