Unless you like the equivalent of a poor campsite please avoid this place! The pictures make it look like the cabins have a shower and toilet. They do not! You are sharing one cold outside loo and one cold outside shower with 5 other cabins. We visited in winter so not only was it too cold, but there was actually no running water anyway! The cabins are really small, 2 very uncomfortable beds with old bedding, and I no personally felt unsafe behind a door made of MDF! This was expensive when less well equipped than many campsites. We will not be returning! On a positive note the staff were responsive and the breakfast was great!

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Overall pleasant stay, presented well and clean. Amazing breakfast with friendly staff. Room was generous size. Our main complaints are the floodlight shining through the window all night with thin curtains, speaker in the ceiling downstairs that hasn’t been soundproofed so there’s fairly loud music playing when trying to sleep and lack of decent shower that’s also nearly impossible to set at a consistent temperature. One minor thing is the plaster crumbling off the wall by the window making it look a bit neglected.
Location is quiet and short drive from Whitby centre.
We had a cozy night in Cabin 3. Lovely staff, tea and coffee tray, towels and comfortable beds. Couldnt ask for more for the price. Really impressed thank you x
Spent one night in the shepards huts, it was lovely, quiet and peaceful. Facilities were clean and breakfast was amazing. We will definitely return for a longer break!
Expedia totally falsely advertise this property as luxury. They are sheds with no amenities. There is 1 toilet and 1 shower between 4 sheds at opposite end of the garden!
The staff and pub itself are lovely apparently they have 3 rooms upstairs in the pub which are luxury but the huts definitely are not! Expedia DO NOT define the difference!
Amazing weekend staff fantastic.
Sharon lola loved you and she taught her.
Dog friendly.
Food amazing and spectacular views.food and drink good prices.
Good value for money.
Slight improvements could be a fridge and dustpan in sheperds hut and a bin in back garden.
Thanks for an wonderful weekend.
Room was nice and clean, staff were very friendly. The food was lovely at tea time and at breakfast with plenty of choice.

Was a nice place, the inside was much nicer than the outside, the breakfast was great but the pub is noisy. They do close at 11 and things quiet down quickly after that. To be expected at an inn like this but was slightly annoying after a long day walking.
