Perfect Stay

The water was high, but went down quickly after the first day. Nice and cold to beat the July heat. George is always easy to communicate with and this place remains our #1 go to for a quick staycation!!

Nice Place, Needs work
Publié le 12 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe location is awesome and the home could be special, however, there many issues that are hard to overlook. For example, there was very little water pressure. Because of this only 1 shower could be used and this shower leaked all over the floor. There was no hot water in the upstairs bathroom. Some of the plugs didn't work and other didn't have covers on them. There is a TV, but only has stations that a small antennae make available.
The listing doesn't state it has internet, but there is literally no cell coverage either. Not the owners fault, but something that needs to be known if you have to work while your there.

We appreciate your feedback and you taking the time to outline some things that would have improved your experience. We always take this seriously. We are on a list to receive wifi and much of the infrastructure has been ran (you can see the wires neatly rolled up on the power poles). However, the service provider is not up and running. I have even contacted Starlink but they don't serve this area either. We are on a well and I added a filter to the water supply which can restrict the flow a little but the water is cleaner. As a precautionary measure we will replace the filter and that will help increase the pressure. The other shower shouldn't leak unless the door is off the track. This too is easily fixed and will be checked on our next maintenance visit.

Fabulous Red Creek House
Publié le 12 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayHome is super clean and well taken care of. Creek is beautiful, but can be tricky to access for some—my husband and i had no problem and enjoyed every second of our stay. Convenient to Wiggins Walmart(5-7 minute drive from house)!

Worst vacation i ever
Publié le 13 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayI took my grandkids to a place i thought was going to have a nice place for them to swim and enjoy . We couldnt get to the creek. We didnt stay but one night there. I wouuld like a refund .

We are saddened and very surprised to learn that your experience was a disappointment. This is the first negative review we've received in over 5 years of hosting and we welcome any and all feedback that will help us to improve our guests experience.
The complaint is however surprising as even before the home became a vacation rental it was used to host church affiliated summer camps and we never received any complaints, only praise.
It is important to remember that the water level of the creek, just like any other body of water, rises and recedes depending on rainfall. During periods of heavy rain as we've has lately, the water rises and the beach gets smaller.

Spring breaking!!
Publié le 18 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayAnother great trip to the cabin and the creek. We rode the trails and had a bonfire every night. The water was still a little cold to get into, but we still enjoyed the sandbar. I'm sure we will be back this summer. Always our go-to for a staycation!!
