We stayed for one night (Saturday) while meeting up with friends in Winchester. We only needed a room and breakfast so did not experience much else of the hotel.
Firstly, the location is fantastic as it is only a 30 second walk to the high street, but also on a quiet road.
Parking was pretty easy, although it was busy and we got the last available space.
We checked ahead to make sure we could drop our bags off early before checking in. After being told that would be fine it was a bit frustrating to be told on the day that there was no room and we would need to leave our bags in our car until it was time to check in. But in the scheme of things, this is a minor gripe.
Check in was nice and easy and the room was pretty good - it was a nice size, good view over the garden, comfortable and clean.
The breakfast was buffet style and suffered the expected problem; food was dry and eggs barely edible unless timed for when they came out fresh. There was one coffee machine which meant there was a queue to get a drink. But it was reasonably priced, ok quality and set us up for the day.
Overall, the hotel is perfect for a weekend in Winchester city centre. We will definitely come back again.
