Publié le 20 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe property is undoubtedly small. It was very clean and comfortable - a perfect base for exploring this wonderful area.
Plenty of grocery stores and pubs/restaurants in surrounding area.
A very steep narrow staircase leading to the second level of the property. I note this has been mentioned in other reviews too.
Overall, my wife and I were very satisfied with the property.

Charming cottage
Publié le 25 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayEverything was lovely but isolated. Fortunately the bus service was wonderful. Be warned, there are steep narrow stairs to access the bedroom.

Rosebud Cottage Windermere

Some tlc required: oven graphics worn away; bedside table loose from the wall; kitchen tap wobbly! Otherwise, great!

Evening Ruth,
Chris spent some maintenance time at the cottage this week and checked the graphics on the hob and oven. He belives that the graphics are as they were when bought (3 years ago). I've noticed that most new ovens have hieroglyphics rather than obvious settings these days and they can be tricky to work out! Thank you for bringing the bedside table failings to out attention, it's been sorted out but unfortunately, the kitchen tap is slightly wobbly due to the depth of the Belfast sink. However, it is safe.
We hope you had a happy break in Rosebud Cottage and the Lakes, and we hope to see there again.

Beautiful cottage in Troutbeck Bridge
Publié le 14 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe loved our stay in this cottage. The owners have put such thought into the items and I loved the textiles and pictures. It was super comfy and a real treat to stay at the cottage.
Although easy access via a main road and spar garage for goodies, the cottage itself is in a private road and set back. We were able to walk from the cottage to the most glorious walks. A great treat.

Disappointed
Publié le 7 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe love the Lake District but we were very disappointed and dismayed at the level of cleanliness and state of the property. Yes it’s very old and there is no doubt it has charm and history, but it wasn’t clean and it isn’t looked after. It was very cold downstairs, even with the heating on, and damp with wet patches on the floor. It definitely wasn’t worth the money.

So sorry you didn't enjoy your stay, we haven't had a complaint about the cleaning as our housekeeper is normally very good but I will have a chat with her . I recently put a oil filled radiator in downstairs instead of an electric one that doesn't seem to be doing the job very well , I will change it swap , in the winter you do have to use the log burner which heats the hole cottage As for the state of the cottage I do regularly maintenance and haven't had any complaints, it is 400 years old and quite quirky but I think that is part of the charm.

Lovely cottage!

Lovely little cottage
Publié le 5 août 2024 sur HomeAwayWe really enjoyed our short stay here. The cottage was full of character but cleverly modernised with a well- equipped kitchen squeezed in at the foot of the stairs. The bathroom had a great shower. The cottage is in a great location with walks from the door but just near the town.

Quaint little cottage

Publié le 22 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayNice little cottage on a busy bus route, wasn’t very welcoming on first impressions, con webs throughout the accommodation and smelt foisy, the mirror in the sitting room and bedroom looked like they had been cleaned with a floor cloth, the kitchen window was so dirty it was difficult to see down the drive. Spent about £35 on kindling & logs trying to warm the place up, booked for a week which was far too long, 2-3 nights would have been enough. Came home a day early, wouldn’t recommend it to family or friends…

Sorry you didn't enjoy your stay we don't provide logs as we have no where to store them but if you put the central heating on it's usually enough . I will have a chat with the house keeper about the cob webs but we have never had a complete about the cleaning before .
