Very unjustified review which you havent even bothered to back up. You stayed one night not seven and were given a full refund. Have many happy guests and since your stay three bookings all of which were from repeat guests, one of which has been coming to Mislet Cottage every year for over 20 years. Think the location and antiquity was sadly lost on you.

No Communications

Owners of Cottage provided a phone number to call one week before our arrival. Numerous attempts each day and "no one" answered the phone. And there wasn't any way to leave a message. On our way to the unit, we had an emergency, one member, in the emergency room for 3 hours. I tried getting hold of the unit, no response so I called VRBO. We had to cancelled because I could not speak with the owner about our situation and their accommodations. Request complete refund.

The review seems very unfair and doesnt seem to ring true as I have spoken to the owner and he did not have loads of missed calls on his mobile. You were provided full directions to the cottage at the time of booking months earlier and it even says in the directions "f you struggle go get hold of Mr Walling the key will normally be in the front door, but if it is not please go to Mislet Farm Cottage next door." I also received no communication from yourself either by phone or via Vrbo messaging. The first time I was aware you didnt come for your one nights stay was when Vrbo contacted me a couple of days after, I offered alternative dates and still had no response from yourselves.

Good locality to Windermere

We enjoyed the stay at the cottage. Nice public walks close by and also can get to Windermere by car in 10 mins.

Unique cottage in a beautiful location.

We had a lovely time at Mislet Cottage. The property was clean and tidy and our kids loved the attic room. There’s a great spot on the terrace to sit and enjoy a drink while taking in the view. The owner Mr Walling was very welcoming and gave us some history about the area and building. The cottage is ideally located for Windermere, Bowness, Ambleside and Kendal. Coniston water is 35 minutes, Keswick and Derwent water are under and hour away.

Great location, cottage has some limitations

The spot and the history are definitely the highlights here. It's in a beautiful and very quiet location in the Lake District hills, just 5 min drive from grocery stores, shopping, and restaurants in Windermere. The cottage itself is quaint, but a bit cramped. Beds are a bit hard, and the ceiling in the sitting room (a former Quaker chapel) is very low (below 6' in spots). So a taller crowd may, like me, bonk your head a few times. Still, it was fine for a couple nights.

Located right on a sheep farm, it’s rustic and quiet but still just a 30 min walk from Windermere. Well equipped kitchen but no staples provided, not even salt and pepper. Also no bath towels or soap/shampoo. We hiked up to a viewpoint north of the cottage with great views of Lake Windermere - beautiful!

Lake District trip

Great location Nice and remote only 4 minutes drive to Windermere 2 mintes drive to garage /supermarket and pub .

Close to all the attractions and M6

From start to finish good communication with all involved. Very nice views from the property James was very helpful. Told us about it’s history very interesting let us check out late very convenient. Explained where to visit and views from the top of his field amazing. Could do with little updating in the kitchen and bathroom but everything was great. Thank you
