A Sunny Week with Sunny Friends
Posted May 20, 2024 on HomeAwayGreat space with 3 beds and 3 bath. Loved the upside down living room and 2 juliette balconies - fab sunset to be ogled from the sofa on our last night.

Easter getaway
Posted Apr. 23, 2024 on HomeAwayFantastic location, lovely house that is well equipped, the only slight issue was the mattress in the small double was uncomfortable and the pillows in the master bedroom need replacing,that being said we would not hesitate to return

Thanks Peter for your kind words, we are really glad you liked the house and had a great week exploring. We are glad you would return as we would welcome you back anytime. All the mattresses have micro toppers on them so I wonder if it was a little soft for you; if you had contacted me to let me know I would have suggested we take it off. We do replace all our pillows each January as we start a new year but I will certainly check them at our next changeover.

Bowness on Windermere
Posted Nov. 12, 2023 on HomeAwayMyself my family stayed in this fantastic house just at the top of the hill leading into Bowness. It was absolutely spotlessly clean and and all the bedrooms had en-suites which was a real bonus. The beds were extremely comfortable and made for a great nights sleep. The living area upstairs was a real wow factor with views across the lake and plenty of seating and relaxing furniture after a day out walking. We had a truly wonderful holiday and would definitely stay there again. It’s was perfect.

Posted Oct. 13, 2023 on HomeAwayIt was rather nice after I sorted out how to get in, the kitchen floor needs seeing to it is almost falling through. The beds have seen better days and were not what I would expect from a property with that letting value. I also object to being told to strip beds etc. especially after paying a £140 extra fees (we always strip the beds on leaving) but we enjoyed the stay.

Having messaged various times to confirm you had all the check in information (given on your VRBO booking & also via email) I never received a reply, so I could only assume you had everything you needed. A standard key safe is on the front door so not sure why it was a struggle to gain entry. A board under the flooring by the breakfast bar is cracked and there is a maintenance note explaining this (which will be fixed when we do not have back-to-back bookings) it is certainly not falling through! The beds are not old and are of good quality, they can be seen on our images so it is unclear why you felt they are old? The £140 guest fee is the VRBO booking fee, which is paid to VRBO not to us, so it was not an ‘extra fee’, and this is itemised on the VRBO invoice. The check out instructions are standard for self-catering and are a polite request not a demand, so you were not obligated to strip the beds only if you do not mind, however if you usually strip beds anyway, I am unsure why this was an issue. However, I am glad you enjoyed your stay despite feeling there were things you did not fully appreciate but I hope that our many other positive reviews speak for the good standard of the property.

We fell in love with Windermere
Posted May 23, 2023 on HomeAwayWe had a wonderful stay at Georgie’s property. She was SO attentive and answered all of my questions very quickly (and I felt horrible because she had answered them all before I asked by leaving important notes around the house!) Windermere and surrounding areas are truly the heart and soul of England. We loved being in easy walking distance to coffee, breakfast, and shops. Our kids are old enough that they could go off on their own and my husband and I would enjoy a quiet breakfast each morning.
The house had fresh carpets and everything was so nice and clean with a lovely view of the lake!
Georgie’s description of the property and photos are exactly as described. The only thing I would add that is hard to depict in a photo is that the kitchen is very small and disconnected from the rest of the house. We cooked all of our evening meals in, so it was notable to us. Everything functioned well and we had all the tools we needed to make our meals! And as an added plus we could walk to the grocery store each day! We were traveling from the US so it will be a while before we can come visit your lovely country again, but we hope not TOO long! Thank you so much!!

Thank you so much for your wonderful review it was a pleasure to host you for the first time in The Lakes and we are glad you loved it as much as we do! So happy that you found the house and lake view to your liking. Just one comment on your mention of the kitchen, it is not a kitchen/diner like many US houses I realise have (although there is a breakfast bar) but the dining room is only 2 yards away across the landing and again by US standards it is not huge but I would say it is medium sized; however, like you say the images are representative. We would love you to return and hope next time you choose us again!

Glad I found this gem

Decent décor and furniture (with the added bonus of Christmas decorations when we stayed). Great location- easy access without a far to Bowness and Windermere. Would definitely stay again

Had a great week in Bowness

Property was perfect for our needs with everything provided, great service from the owners who responded quickly to all our questions and queries. We will be looking to return in the future
