Great hotel, stayed at beginning of my Namibia trip and also at the end. Very nice hotel and nice people.

Should be your first choice

This is the place to stay if you don't need to be exactly in the city center. It's only 5 min away from city center though. Very friendly staff that make you feel welcomed and appreciated every time they see you. Suites are above expectations, and the food is very good. Highly recommended. Ohh by the way, I did a full body aromatherapy massage, awesome, ask for Beverly.

Disappointing stay in beautiful hotel

Pour : Pros: The interior design is gorgeous, the photos don´t do it justice Cons: The fountains outside our door were not working, our plunge pool on the deck was filled with a green soup of algae, covered with plastic - not a pretty sight, completely destroying the view as there is a glass window from the room reaching down into the pool. The bathroom smelled of waste water. The service was unspeakably bad, and I tend to be a tolerable person. For dinner the waiter, who seemed to be a school kid doing a project for class "My day as a waiter" had to be summoned after 20min to take our drink orders although only eight tables were occupied and staff consisted of three waiters. He took our orders and disappeared without giving us a chance to place our food orders. Promptly though, a waitress appeared to take our menus away. When we mildly protested that we hadn´t ordered yet, she was very surprised. 40min later, I was still waiting for my starter salad. I asked the waiter about it, was told "I will check", two minutes later, both waiters appeared carrying our main courses. "And the salad?". Stunned looks, stammer and: "We will get it". I told them that I needed the salad BEFORE the main course - "No problem, we will get it", "but the meat will get cold!". Exasperated, I told them to cancel the salad as it had obviously not been prepared at all. My first bite in the springbok fillet told me the next problem was at hand. It had the consistency of rubber.
Contre : As I had two pieces of meat, I tried both from both ends, I ended having to spit each piece whole as the meat was literally unchewable. I asked for the manager, politely explained and handed him a piece to try - he promptly removed the plate and I received something else, which was fine. The next morning, before ordering breakfast, I asked whether the orange juice was freshly squeezed. Yesterday´s young waiter: "I don´t know"......"Could you find out, please?" - he disappeared, only to reappear victoriously pronouncing "yes, it is freshly squeezed". We ordered two, took one sip and of course, it was diluted, sugared stuff from concentrate. When I addressed this, he looked surprised and said: "I checked and since it is in a large glass pitcher, I thought...." Upon checkout the manager was at hand and after a brief intermezzo when the front desk clerk tried charging us 40.000$ instead of the 400$ for one night and the card was declined I figured there is one good thing I can get out of this and asked him what the name of the interior designer was. "I don´t know" he said, "but i know it´s a guy from Johannesburg." Right.
