Great hotel. Close to everything!
Publié le 4 oct. 2024 sur HotelsI would definitely stay here again. Hard to leave. I gave it a 4 star, I could easily give it 5. The only drawback was a long walk to the room. Nice breakfast, with a wonderful view of the Thames. Let's call it a 4.8*

Everything was great except for the long trek to our room. Up and down stairs carrying our bags.

Accommodation in the original main building is more traditional and there is no lift, however our newest and most modern accommodation is in Windsor House and in this building there is a lift to all floors. I have stayed here a couple of times in the past and have been in the annex across the square. This time we were in the main building. There are lots of steps, twists and turns to reach the room,, which was tired and and in need of renovation. The breakfast used to include a buffet, plus a cook to order meal. Now it is just a buffet, and not as good as other hotels in this price category

Rooms are beautiful, hotel is lovely, breakfast is good, and location is perfect. Adjacent to train station and two blocks from Windsor Castle. Service was poor. We received very poor advice concerning the time required for a car to central London, and very limited assistance when we asked for restaurant recommendations. We would likely stay there again, but we would not rely on staff for assistance beyond basic hotel service. The hotel needs to invest in training for staff. They were quite pleasant; just not trained for the work in a hotel of this sort.

We are sorry that the team provided very poor advice, this is most unusual. If any member of our team is asked a question and does not know the answer then they should ask a colleague for assistance, they should not just guess.
