Terrible Support From Nest Host!
Publié le 18 août 2022 sur HomeAwayUpon check in there was literally NO support. Nest Host reached out to ask if I needed anything and then NEVER got back to me.! They don't work weekends (lol in itself a joke) but I was there 5 nights heard NOTHING from them after reaching out for support!
There were no dish clothes, no cutting board and no decent knives. Paying for a 5 day with ZERO support isn’t what I’d call value.
The place is advertised as park like but the yard was a dump with cob webs all over the entrance and step. There was no outdoor area to sit or chairs.
The sheets were pilled so it felt like sleeping on sandpaper. I reached out but there was literally NO REPLY! There were no cleaning supplies. I had to wipe the table, counters and stove with paper towels. There were no extra sheets or any kind of bedding. The worst part was THERE WAS NO SUPPORT! Total RIP OFF and I am very angry that I paid that kind of money to be treated so dismissively!
These arrangements need to work for both parties and this one didn’t work for me. NEVER stay at a place managed by Nest Host - they provide no support!
Suggestions - stock the place with basic cleaning supplies, cooking equipment and better sheets. Clean up the yard - cobwebs at door, fix the gate (it was impossible to open it and you have to squeeze through with bags)!
Provide some outdoor chairs.
But most important-give your guests the respect of providing them with support and a follow up to their needs.

Nice & quiet spot
Publié le 15 oct. 2021 sur HomeAwayPeaceful location, updated small house is fine for up to 5 people (pullout couch in living room good for 1 person). Only negative things are that the old wood floor is pretty creaky, especially right around the full bath (making any late night visit to the bathroom a noisy affair), the TV was complicated & lacks local channels, and we weren't supplied with enough bath towels. Other than that, it was just fine.

Not smoke free or clean as advertised

Check in: despite 2 emails and a text with the door code instructions, we arrived to a locked door. We called the Nest Host, Cam, who did not know who I was or where I was renting. After a frustrating conversation, the door was unlocked remotely and the code reset to the last four digits of my phone number
BAD SMELL: the renter before me was a smoker, a heavy smoker. The "cleaning team" tried to mask it with Fabreeze, which was sprayed onto walls and kitchen cupboards. I could not put my clothes in the bedroom closet, the stench was so bad. We spent the first morning of the rental asking for a solution, which was an ozone machine treatment, which we had to leave to be administered. That worked temporarily and the SMELL slowly returned over the following days.When I returned home, the stench was still in my clothing and suitcases.
CLEANLINESS: there were dirty handprints on the back of the front door, the bathroom door and several walls. The washing machine and dryer had mold growing in them; my husband ran a laundry cleaner he bought thru the washing machine and scrubbed the mold off in both so we could wash clothing. I booked this unit purposely because we needed a washer and dryer. I was appalled at the moldy state we found it in and the fact that we had to clean it. I reported the mold to the owners; no cleaning service was offered to me, only an apology.
TV services: The rental comes with a large screen TV in the living room, but no instructions on how to use the ROKU system, which, being from out of province, we were unfamiliar with. The SHAW cable remote left in the coffee table as useless because the rental has no cable TV. After numerous texts, the property owner confirmed there was no cable and was completely unfamiliar with the PIN process so we had to add our credit card information to the system (which we were reluctant to do) to add FREE Roku channels to get the news services.
On Tuesday, after the ozone machine treatment made the rental somewhat bearable, we decided to stay until we found an alternative place to stay and left a day early, receiving a refund for one night.
OVERALL: while the rental was located in a quiet community that we enjoyed and had a kitchen, the rest of the rental was not what was advertised. It was not smoke free. Nest Host's cleaning team knew it. I deserve a full refund for the Sun-Thurs rental fee because of this desception.

Absolutely perfect
Publié le 14 juill. 2019 sur HomeAwayThe house was rented for out-of-town guests we were hosting and it was just perfect. Super clean, nicely decorated, absolutely everything they needed. They loved being in a quiet family neighborhood that was minutes from everything. Exactly as the photos show.
