This renovated farmhouse (2020) is nestled back in the foothills of Stokes County with breathtaking views of Cook's wall and all the privacy for a relaxing get-away. The older homestead built in the 1800's still stands on the property. The Lucky House's sister home, Treetop, is next door (yet allowing plenty of privacy between the two homes) and sleeps 8 if you need more room for your guests. Treetop's Property ID# is 3934130 and is also available to rent on it's own.
This 3 bedroom/2 bathroom home sleeps 6 and is just minutes from all that Stokes County has to offer including Hanging Rock State Park, Moore Springs Manor, and historic Danbury. Explore the outdoors with hikes to the waterfalls, tube the Dan River, rock climbing and much more!
Pilot Mountain State Park is also just a short drive away. Wi-Fi streams all you need on a large smart TV in the living area. New (2020) refrigerator, washer and dryer, dishwasher, range with oven, microwave, master bedroom and bathroom with beautiful tile shower and double sink vanity, and an outdoor patio with gas grill and fire pit to relax after your day. Wake Forest University and downtown Winston-Salem are a short drive from The Lucky House. A Slice of Country Paradise
My biggest complaint is we couldn’t stay longer. I love the secluded feeling of the home but it’s centrally located to do many things with just a short drive to multiple destinations. We we hiked to all the waterfalls of Hanging Rock and climbed to the top of the mountain for a scenic view. I highly recommend visiting the Divine Llama winery and Green Herond brewery on the River. Don’t forget to hike pilot mountain too.

Peace Be Still
We were comfortable, safe and secure during a mostly rainy get away visiting family in the area for birthday celebrations. The neighborhood was quiet all the time; a deer family of 4 stopped about 25 yards from the front door to graze; the luscious green grass and manicured landscaping created lovely scenery to view from the inside out. We couldn't enjoy the backyard or fire pit due to the weather. There was plenty of space inside to spread out and relax. All the pictures on the site are accurate; information about the home, surroundings and guest expectations is plentiful and easily accessed. Many thanks to our host, Emily!

Peaceful retreat
This was our third stay at this beautiful home and hopefully not the last! Excellent communication with the hosts, the house and property are beautiful and immaculately clean, and the surrounding area is fun to explore. The beds are extremely comfortable and we were able to get some much needed rest and relaxation. My kids enjoyed running around the spacious yard, making smores, catching fireflies, and playing games.

We traveled to the area for a family wedding. The home was in the perfect location. The property was spotless and so well maintained with all of the conveniences of home If there was anything we needed I knew we could contact Emily. We enjoyed sitting outside on the patio enjoying the views and peacefulness of the setting. It was the perfect place to unwind from the festivities and enjoy our time together. The area offered short drives to hiking that we could all enjoy. I highly recommend a stay here if visiting!

We had a great stay, the house is beautiful & we instantly felt welcomed & at home. The welcome basket & sweet note was such a thoughtful touch. The property is stunning, the views were just lovely & the old homestead outback was nice to see. The location was quiet, private, country feeling but very well lit which was great at night & walking the property was very enjoyable. The house was very easy to find, check in was a breeze & Emily was a fantastic host & responsive. One of our favorite VRBO stays
This is an absolutely meticulous, beautifully decorated and serene getaway home! We were visiting for our nieces wedding at the Pilot Mountain Vineyard & had the most fabulous weekend. The owners are super accommodating & helpful. The fire pit area is lovely & relaxing. The view of Hanging Rock in front of the home is breathtaking. We plan to take a trip back for a fall getaway weekend. Would highly recommend this beautiful property!!

Nice Stay
My family of four (kids 8 &10 and dog ) had a very relaxing stay at this home. It was situated in a quiet and beautiful area. The home is just as pictured and very clean. The beds were comfortable and the bedding was nice. The home had everything you need for a great stay. We used the fire pit one night and it came with wood and starter logs. We would definitely come and stay here again. There is a Food Lion nearby and a Mexican restaurant that was very good named Linda Vista. Hanging Rock Park is very close by and was very cool. We hiked several trails and visited Mt. Airy.

Family Time
What a perfect weekend. The property was beautiful. Super clean. All the personal touches to make you feel like you were in your own home. Highly recommend and our family will most definitely book another stay. The scenic views were breathtaking. Super location. Far enough away to enjoy the quiet knowing a short 15 minute drive puts you near great restaurants a grocery store, and gas stations.

The setting of this lovely home is amazing with a view that takes you away and the home is just as described with much attention to detail. It felt even larger than expected with everything you need. We came for hiking and found the location great for Hanging Rock and Pilot Mountain. The host was so helpful and communicative making the stay just as we hoped for! We hope to come back.

The property was very clean and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable! The host family was very gracious leaving us a hand written welcome note and snacks upon arrival. The home offered such a peaceful setting for 5 friends to come together and catch up. It would also be a great location for a family as there is room to run around and explore outside the home. Inviting Stay
This home was extremely inviting and cozy. We went with friends for a weekend in February and it was the perfect home to come back to after a day of chilly hiking. Clean, accomodating, and attention to detail throughout the whole home all while having one of the greatest views and tucked away in the woods without any close neighbors. The hosts even left a gift basket with snacks. Thank you!

Beautiful location, amazing property
We have stayed at many vrbos (and similar!) over the years and this was hands down the nicest property and home we've ever stayed in. Yes, the photos in the listing are great, but once you park and cross the threshold into the farmhouse, you realize you are staying somewhere special. The home was perfect for our family of 5 adults and 2 doggos. We prepared meals in the well-stocked kitchen and enjoyed using the gas grill and fire pit. The location, of course, is super convenient to Hanging Rock and Pilot Mtn State Parks. This was our first time in the Sauratown Mountain area and it's a nice change from the more commercialized towns of Asheville, Boone, etc. The host was amazing and even offered us a late checkout, which we took full advantage of. The farmhouse makes you want to linger and enjoy each other's company and surroundings. We had a peaceful, memorable and fun long weekend and would love to return!

I enjoyed my stay at the property especially since it's at a dead end and has lots of privacy. You can see the mountains from the front porch. The only thing I wished for was a smart TV in the bedroom but the one in the living room was good. Overall, 5 stars!

This house was perfect for a weekend getaway at the end of autumn. It is near Hanging Rock State Park and a quick drive from Pilot Mountain and JoLo Winery. The house is exactly as advertised and the property has stunning views. The owners included so many special and thoughtful touches.
