Spacious House in Nice Area

Basic crockery not there. Not enough to go around. Plenty of beer glasses but only 1 wine glass. One lamp for double room. Also one without a globe. Toilet roll holder missing. No teabags. Coffee machine with no pods. Backyard looked nice. Linen was fine. House was otherwise clean. Otherwise was a great stay in a nice area. good pub food available close by.

The stay was lovely but there were 2 issues. The shower in the ensuite did not empty fast enough and so the floor flooded. We had to turn off the water shampoo our hair and then turn on the water to rinse, let the water subside before we could continue with the shower. There was a similar problem in the main bathroom. But it did not flood - just made sure we had a very short shower.

spacious but needs attention, this house has lot of potential

Constructive Feedback; My family and my overseas guests stayed at the house over Christmas 2022 and only used the house for sleeping. We spent time out with other family members who stayed with her daughter who lives in West Wodonga. First impression of the house was fantastic, however, things started to fall apart when we turned the airconditioner ON and all the dirt, cobwebs and dead spiders started to fill the rooms. To me its very important to breathe clean air, unfortunatelly I think those ducts are a health hazard and they need attention. On Christmas morning the main bathroom flooded due to blocked drain in shower. Lucky for my husbands handyman skills and a butter knife to pop the drain and give it a clean, which worked for time being but I suggest you call a plumber and have it looked at. My experience working in the building industry, that drain is still blocked from building rubble....just a suggestion. There were cobwebs everywhere inside and outside, but I can live with that as its part of nature, however all the cigarette butts in the garden and around the firepitt should have been picked up. I've given a generous 3 stars for this property, but it had potentials to get 5 stars. The mattresses need to be replaced in every room, I think they are as old as I am..... about 50+ years old. Beds need to be dressed the day before guessts arrive with clean and fresh sheets ( I know this because I've worked in housekeeping), unfortunately ours smelled stail. Mop and bucket needs to be clean for guests to use. Fridge needed to be wiped out. I hope you take this as a constructive feedback. As I've mentioned, this house has great potential with some attention to detail. My Viking Brother in law from Sweden enjoyed the beers the host left in the fridge, so THANK YOU for that (5*) very much APPRECIATED. Best wished Rozalia

Rozalia, Constructive feedback would have been welcomed in a private forum not as a review on my B&B. Guiding from the 20 messages I received prior to your arrival I am not surprised that your high maintenance outlook has flowed on to an exaggerated review. In saying that I am surprised that you have worked in house keeping as the state you and your ‘overseas’ friends left my BnB was nothing short of a mess. just a few side notes to issues raised. ‘Dirt, cobwebs and dead spiders filling the rooms’ from the air conditioner seems to be very dramatic as the unit and vents had been serviced and cleaned in December so highly unlikely. Since this review I have scoped the 700m2 block for cigarette butts and found 4, good pick up. Mattresses are all 12 months old and equip with brand new mattress protectors and have been complimented on there comfort by many guests so I am hesitant to change. As for the shower I have personally lived in this property for 4 years and never had an issue, I have noticed whilst popping the cap for regular clean there has been hair build up from previous guests that results in slow draining of water not so much a ‘flooding’ event, this will continue to be regularly cleaned/maintained. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed my complementary Beer and Wine 😊 am sorry to hear you have nothing else nice to say about my property. Reviews like this can be very destructive to any business I hope you take a different approach with future BnB Hosts, I am just glad you’re the only negative review I have had as all other platforms are 5 stars.
