Very disappointing management attitude

Transmitted rooming list to the hotel 5 weeks ahead of our trip but they forgot to transfer to the reception which meant that 2 guests where not listed and one room was missing !!!
There was only one basic lodge room left which was their worst room as it was only 10 yards from the main road. In short, I was downgraded from a suite to the worst room of the hotel.
The next morning they found out that our 15th room was finally available and was not used.
The hotel manager did not want to admit for all the mistakes and this was very disappointing in terms of customer service. I paid the full price of 3 suites, 1 twin and 11 deluxe double rooms although I spent the night in the cheapest room because of their mistakes.
We will certainly not be returning to this hotel next year for our golfing trip in Woking !

Disappoint food at dinner and breakfast

The service from the restaurant staff and bar staff is friendly.
The food needs improvement. The chicken in both of our dinners was tough despite having different meals.
Breakfast isn't up to par, it lacks value for money, and appears that cheap ingredients are used.
You'd expect a country hotel to do better by offering great food, overall, i rate the food 6/10.
Better to book room only, and eat elsewhere.

Lovely location, great setting, friendly staff, parking close to bedrooms. Individual guests crowded out by wedding not great.

Downgrade!!
Publié le 6 oct. 2024 sur HotelsI booked and paid for at the point of booking a suite! When I got here they told me the suite wasn’t available and only a deluxe twin. A room with two single beds just pushed together. There was no offer of a refund or any compensation for paying for a more expensive room then receiving this. I was told that it was due to a leak in the room. Yet there was a wedding at the hotel and they were given the room I had booked and paid for. No honesty and no compensation for the money I had paid.

This is a beautiful traditional country hotel set in lovely grounds. The staff are attentive without being overbearing. The room was clean and comfortable with a lovely view of the gardens. We had an afternoon tea which was fantastic, and the two breakfasts we had were delicious. All in all a lovely couple of nights stay, we would definitely recommend a stay here.
