Dog friendly is great!
Staff v.helpful & friendly.
Shame no a/c in our room but pleased there was a fan!
Shame we had to pay £20 for parking unlike the last time we stayed, no payment at all.

A reasonable hotel

As usual on arrival reception was not manned, and there was therefore a considerable delay checking in.
I times my arrival for 8p.m. but there was a hold up on the M25 so I missed the incredibly early 8.30p.m. cut off for the restaurant.
The rooms are looking a little grubby with dirty paintwark, that just needs a good clean, other than that this is a well appointed hotel, in a great location.

Excellent and poor under the same roof.
Publié le 9 août 2024 sur HotelsThe staff at The Talbot Inn were very nice and were helpful, the restaurant food was excellent and plenty of choice but the breakfast was poor, greasy and had a limited choice for vegetarians or vegans. The bedroom was stylish and the bathroom modern but it was grubby, with a stained carpet, dirty net curtains and cobwebs. The tables and chairs in the bar were dirty and sticky and dirty ashtrays on the tables in the garden were not changed for clean ones until the following evening. The setting was beautiful and the outdoor terrace and garden were lovely and it was dog-friendly everywhere except the dining room. The booking form through Hotels.com that I used did not have a selection for bringing a dog or parking overnight, both of which transpired to be chargeable items even though I booked a dog-friendly room and was a guest over a long weekend. I felt that Hotels.com should have flagged those options as it added 20% to the cost of the room. The hotel manager was good about that though and reduced the extras fee when I raised the issue.

Disappointed with noisy and very dusty dark room
Publié le 25 juill. 2024 sur HotelsDisappointed in all as we’d upgraded to a deluxe 4 posted bed for a one night stay. The room was extremely noisy on the road and above the bar area. Poor nights sleep as we could hear noise from surrounding rooms and very creaky floor above. The room was very dusty and bathroom wasn’t very clean. We stayed in Room 02. The food was very good in the restaurant though and breakfast was ok. Being charged £10 to park is a bit much too. Shame as lovely looking pub.

Great location. Local walks pubs & restaurants. Relaxed peaceful and friendly staff.
