We loved our stay. We are backpacking the east coast, spending the occasional night in our tent and and we hope that all our campsites will be like Dunk Island! It’s a perfect place to spend a quiet few days or longer. Immaculately clean, great camp kitchen, and the cafe was a lifesaver when Woolworths was closed on Sunday and we had no food! Loved it.

I didn't like the entrance with open air above the doorway, old plumbing pipes cut off and pocking out of the floor straight in front of U as U enter, no screens above that doorway, nor entering into a paint pealing floor, no screens on the bathroom, nor toilet area. That is what U C as U open the front door. It was the first place I have seen that is in such awful condition. I reported all this to the management. They gave me one days refund , even though they had said they would refund the days I didn't stay. I had booked at another caravan park in Mission Beach for 2 nights, but when it came to giving me two nights refund , they would only give me one.They didn't honour what they said they would do . So I had to cancel that night, by having to drive in the rain to personally cancel that night. And stay another night. The morning that I left I woke to something tickling my right cheek on my face, I brushed it off , then it was tickling my right hand. I was stil half asleep. I saw a large Cockroach then run under the bed. That is what had been tickling my face and hand!!!!!!!!! Bloody awful way to wake up. So NO I will not b recommending them EVER. I feel disgusted with this place, and that they charge $106 per night for such crap.

I stayed in the single en-suite and the unit was perfect!! It has everything you need (kettle, dishes, Nescafé and tea as well as shower/bath amenities). The unit and everything in it was extremely clean and fresh, almost like everything was brand new. There is a small store and cafe at reception which is super convenient. The pool and communal kitchen were also in top condition. Staff was friendly and helpful and checkin and out was a breeze.

Clean but overpriced for the lack of decore in the cabin and dated interior (still living in the 60s) Wouldn't stay again.
