Hotel avec parking, situation idéal pour visite d'oxford (arrêt de bus à 2 mn) de bleiheim palace et des cotswolds ! Accueil parfait - gentillesse des 2 dames au petit déjeuner (copieux et très bon). Attention malgré tout le charme de cette petite auberge, des travaux s'imposent (moquettes à changer) et insonorisation des fenêtres à prévoir. Chambre 5 (suite familiale) donnant sur le coté de la rue (très bruyant) : passage des voitures et la VMC ou extraction de cuisine qui tourne toute la nuit !!!

Adequate place for a short stay close to Oxford

Pour : Proximity to Oxford and Blenheim. Woodstock itself is very nice. Breakfast
Contre : It feels a bit old. Traffic noise in the morning.
We stayed with a family of five for two nights (in one room room on the first floor above the pub -- room is for four persons but to hotel had no qualms about us putting in another mattress). The hotel is a bit worn, nothing feels really new or particularly clean, but it's decent enough (shower was a bit on the limit). No noise from the pub whatsoever (and there's a separate entrance to the hotel), but traffic noise in the morning was quite loud, due to old windows. Breakfast is cooked to order by a very friendly lady. If you look for a place from where to visit Oxford (bus stop is right next to the hotel) or Blenheim (other side of the street), and you have no particular exigencies or expectations, this place will certainly do.

Little Gem
Publié le 30 juin 2024 sur HotelsA little Gem of an Inn, and the winner is it is very dog friendly. The room was big for 2 adults and 2 older children and a dog. Lovely decor and a great location. Service was great, we also eat an evening meal at the pub which was great after a day of exploring.

Lovely old in with lots of character. A good location with on site parking which is rare in that area. Lovely large room, well decorated and a large comfy bed with good pillows. There was also a sofa and wooden chest as a coffee table, very bright and pleasant. The only suggestion I could make would be a swivel bracket on the TV so your can watch it in bed. The bathroom was lovely, nice and large with good fittings and an enormous shower with toiletries provided. A very good breakfast was provided, well worth £12.50 per person, which has to be booked on check in. I had the full English with "proper pork sausages" and plenty of toast to go with it all cooked by a lady with a beautiful voice singing whilst cooking in the kitchen. A continental breakfast was also available with fruit juices served by a very nice young man. There were little tables and chairs in the front where you could sit and people watch. All together a lovely pleasant place to stay and highly recommended. The inly improvement to be made was that there was only one person working the bar checking in guests and answering random questions so you were constantly disturbed whilst trying to check in but not a major issue. Overall, a lovely place to stay and very convenient for the shops, museum and Blenheim Palace.
