Wonderful Cabin
Publié le 1 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis cabin was probably the best rental we have ever stayed in. It was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed and Alex answered my questions quickly and honestly. The area is quiet and peaceful and there was a great view from the deck that we used every day. I enjoyed using the provided canoe and walking around the neighborhood with our dog. It was nice to have access to a pool and tennis courts. The only negatives were that the lake, although beautiful, wasn't great for swimming (in my opinion) and the backyard was a bit soggy and muddy near the fire pit area due to a constant stream of water down the slope of the yard. We had a great week and would highly recommend The Lakes End.

This particular guest was perhaps the most high-maintenance guest I have had in years. I guess I will address the accusations point-by-point.
Updates & Repairs: virtually everything in the entire house is less than 3 years old.
Siding and decking: re-surfaced & stained May 2024
Roof: replaced November 2023
Kitchen: replaced April 2023
Virtually all Furniture/light fixtures/ceiling fans: replaced 2021-2022.
Sheets/towels/bedding/etc: we regularly replace these items; I would say it would be odd if one of these items was more than 2 years old.
You can also clearly see the state of the house in pictures. All pictures are current and nothing should have been a surprise.
Mildew smell: in my eight years of ownership of this house, and 7 years of renting, this is the first time anyone has ever complained about a mildew smell anywhere in the house. I reached out to the guest before and after this guest and they said "we have no idea what she is talking about". The house constantly has forced hot air/AC running so that should take away virtually all moisture from the air.
The dock area is wet: yes, typically lakes are wet. I apologize for this but it's out of my control. This guest did call me to complain that the back yard was wet after it rained - perhaps this is what she was referring to. I am not sure what the expectation was here - to send someone to dry off the yard when it rains?
Overall - this guest had requests several times a day virtually every day of their stay and I responded to everything immediately and to the best of my ability.

Summer at the lakes end

Location was perfect, we loved relaxing out on the porch or on the dock enjoying the lake views. Big Eddy (swimming hole) right down the street is always our favorite swimming spot to visit. We had a blast and we would absolutely stay here again.

Amazing stay at this incredible home !!

Alex is a great homeowner and was always available if we needed him. The area is so quiet and nice, and the house is so clean and spacious and we lacked for nothing. The lake was peaceful and warm and surrounded by natural beauty. We had some bear friends come visit us in the backyard and we were able to safely watch them from the upper deck. We had another amazing stay and will most likely come back in the future. Thanks Alex for everything!!

Summer family vacation
Publié le 15 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had a great time at Lakes End. We had 8 adults and 2 toddlers (and 2 dogs). Alex was a great host, and always answered any communication very quickly. We had everything we needed. The grandchildren enjoyed seeing the fish from the dock. The better area to swim is at the community beach down the road, and we went there often. There's also a pool which is open during the day, and only requires a "pass" during the hours when there is no lifeguard on duty.
The kitchen was very well stocked for cooking, and there was plenty of seating for eating and watching TV. The air conditioning was perfect since we were there during a heat wave.

Beautiful cabin!
Publié le 9 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe cabin was perfect for our family - 6 adults and 3 kids! We enjoyed nightly fires in the gorgeous fireplace and card games. Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The yard is a great space and we loved walking to the beach and playground.

Quiet NH getaway
Publié le 2 janv. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had a wonderful time in this quiet log cabin in NH. The home was spacious and allowed for our group of 6 adults to be together or have quiet time apart. The view was beautiful from the living room windows - it would have been even better if the sun came out (we had a rainy weekend away).
