Cute little hotel in the center of York. The decoration and location is great. The service was excellent and the receptionist was incredibly nice and helpful. The only downside was that we were in a basement room, and we could hear clients from the hotel walking and talking during the night. I also recommend that you do not try to get to the hotel with a car! We got caught in the historic center and it was very complicated. So just park in one of the many car parks around and walk.

Bien placé mais cher vu les prestations
Publié le 22 août 2019 sur HotelsCher pour la qualité des prestations. Chambre assez petite en sous-sol et basse de plafond, légère fuite sous le lavabo. On s’attendait à mieux vu le prix et les photos.

Merci pour votre avis. Vous avez été placé dans le type de chambre que vous avez réservé - Deluxe King. Nous conseillons toujours de parler à la réception si vous êtes malheureux car ils ont pu changer de chambre.

It was so convenient to be able to walk around the ciry without issues. Parking was a pain so travel light as you have walk about .5 miles to get to hotel on cobbled streets. It wasn't awful but just annoying. Dont expect anything else other than a room. Very limited amenities. It was quiet,and comfy.

Cool vibe, historic building, no elevator

Service of night staff excellent and helped bring our bags up to the third floor with small staircase—It is a historically old building with wood beams and a courtyard to walk through to get to the hotel from the street. No parking on site as in pedestrian area—that walk to car park was .6 miles away—again difficult with a cane.
It was close to everything in old town York—7 minute walk to The Shambles, 40 seconds to nearest Starbucks, and all the sights/shopping was within 5-7 minute walk.
The hotel has a cool theme of being in Judges’ court with gavels for coat hooks and each room named after a different judge. Cool stay—would have been great had I been in my 30s and not with a cane.

Lovely Hotel.
Publié le 11 oct. 2024 sur HotelsLovely stay here for two nights. Very comfortable room. Comfortable bed and fresh linen. Bathroom and shower spacious. Gorgeous white large fluffy towels. Staff very helpful on places to eat and very welcoming Hotel is situated near all the attractions. Short walk from train station. Highly recommended.

Overall very comfortable stay but not sure my room met a 4* rating. Bedding was clean and good quality. Furniture could do with some TLC and room needed painting - lots of scuff marks on walls. Mattress was big and overhanging bedframe, just seemed a bit tatty. Bathroom was modern and well equipped. Molton Brown toiletries! Great big shower but was slippy when wet and fan was very noisy and went on for ages after light switched off. Could also hear fan and person / tv in next room.
Rm 16 was on the top floor, stairs were narrow but to be expected in this age of building. Room was very warm but again expected since on top floor.
Good value for what i paid, would definitely stay again but a little bit of love would elevate the experience. Staff were efficient and pleasant.
