It is quiet and secuded...so if you arrive after dark in fog like we did, have a flashlight/torch handy to help make your way from the parking area to the house. We ate at the nearby pub and had a nice meal. The host was super responsive to our communication via VRBO. It was located about 15 minute drive to York.

Great weekend break with friends
Publié le 22 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayOur group of five uni friends had a great time at the lodge for a weekend away. It was everything we could have wished for- quiet, clean and comfortable. The 2-hour walk to York along the river was very enjoyable.

Publié le 7 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayBooked this lodge for my daughter's for a quiet weekend away , the location was great, near to middlethorpe hall spa. A lovely clean spacious lodge highly recommend for a relaxing weekend away.

Middlethorpe Hall Spa is a local gem just 8 minutes drive from us here.
The wildlife around us often captures peoples imagination, with the hooting of the Tawny owls, the Canada geese or the illusive Barn Owl hunting in the adjacent field. We look forward to hosting you again in the future.

Peaceful, tranquil get away but close to York

Very clean,comfortable, practical and well thought out.!!!Communication with Richard is excellent and responds to enquiries very quickly. Wouldn't hesitate to book again and highly recommended!!.

Great Location south of York

Thank you for your review. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. Yes there is a bumper crop of acorns on the oak tree this year that the squirrels are busy removing.
It’s a seasonal activity but we hope that this wasn’t too intrusive for you.
