Close to York Minster. Decent hotel.
The room was ok, the bed a bit hard for my disabled wife. We had room 5, on the first floor and we had a fridge but then my wife pointed out it was the bathroom. No heating whatsoever. Breakfast excellent. Car parking free unless you book via, for eg Hotels.com, £10.00 a night.

Lovely stay in York
Room was comfortable and decent size. Bathroom was clean and spacious. Breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked with plenty of choices. Location for town was a 5 min walk to the city wall and approx 10 minutes walk to The Shambles. Staff were friendly. The only minor drawback we thought was the hotel seemed a little tired but didn’t affect our lovely stay at The Minster Hotel.

The hotel provided good homely efficient care. Staff were brilliant and helpful.The rooms were clean and warm. Breakfasts were very adequate. Within its limits the hotel did really well. Its central location was a real plus.

Friendly hotel, perfectly situated.
We reported a broken toilet seat several times and nothing was done about it despite assurances it would be dealt with. Despite this everyone we spoke to was extremely friendly so I think it was probably just a mix up in house. The Minster Hotel is perfectly situated for spending time in York, I use a mobility scooter and was able to get in to the city in a matter of minutes.

Rooms are so small the bed was very in comfy had to be moved to another room the smell of sewerage was unbearable and the radiators wouldn’t come and it was absolutely Baltic we left a day early

We wanted to stay somewhere within walking distance of the city and this was definitely within five minutes walk. Car parking was secure and not as expensive as other places which is a bonus. The room was clean and modern and very warm but opening the window resolved this. The pillows were a bit flat and hard but the bed was comfy. Great breakfast variety. The hotel was small and friendly which was really nice.

Prepare for a climb
No lift, no help with luggage. Attic room on the street side. I suspect that Expedia users get the least desirable rooms. Location is excellent.

I loved this little hotel. The staff were all lovely, especially the breakfast crew. Everyone was so welcoming. My room was clean and cozy. The steps were a bit of a challenge for me; I was on the top floor. Everything else, I couldn't have hoped for more.
