I was highly dissatisfied as after a long drive and arriving late at night, the hotel informed me that I was not in the system (while I had my full confirmation with me). Moreover, the hotel was not as pictured and certainly not worth 100 USD a night. Nonetheless, after insisting that I must be in the system, the receptionist say `Ah yes, you are right, we relocated you (without my knowledge) to another hotel because we were overbooked.` The receptionist then provided me convoluted directions to the `other hotel`. I said that I am not familiar with the city at all and it was dark- cca 10pm. As they did not have a room for me, I proceeded to go to the other hotel. Due to Zvolen being a historical city with many 1-way streets, I got lost and could not find the hotel after circling for about half an hour. Finally I found the other hotel, exhausted and upset. The non-smoking room that I requested, ended up being aired out `smoking room`. By this time, I had no energy to ask for another since I was exhausted...with business meetings the next day. In any case, a very unsatisfactory experience all around. Not to mention, I called Expedia who wrote up the case, promised to issue me a refund but has not done it till today!!!! No sign of it, no apologies - horrible service from A-to-Z (and I am a Gold member.)
