Take 2 days to see Lombok on this guided tour. Explore the beautiful white-sand beaches, take in the coastal view, and visit hidden villages and scenic locations such as Narmada Palace and Mayura Water Garden.
Start your Lombok excursion at Sukarare, a village of traditional weavers, renowned for its colourful and intricately patterned songket cloth. Witness the age-old traditions of fabric production, from techniques to patterns and motifs that have been used for generations.
Next, travel to the island's pottery centre, Banyumulek, and catch local craftsmen making pottery using traditional burning techniques. Watch clay being moulded, baked, and painted to form vases and plates of various shapes, sizes, and colours.
On day 2 visit Mayura, the former capital of Lombok under the Balinese kings. Admire the remains of the water complex built in 1744, picturesque temples, and an ancient palace in an idyllic park with an avenue of mangosteen trees. Wonder at the majesty of the nearby Narmada Palace, made in the image of Mount Rinjani's summit and the crater lake atop the volcanic mountain.
Afterwards, drive through the scenic countryside to see rice fields and conventional farms as you reach Sade, a hamlet built entirely from adobe and long grass in the customary Sasak (one of the original Lombok ethnic groups) style. Before your return trip, travel to Kuta Beach and witness the magnificent coastline with its unspoiled white sand and blue-green waters.
