As compared to the Day Tour, it's a little bit creepier (haunted?) with less crowds, small group docent-led tours, often including additional presentations and sometimes chances to go to parts of the prison unavailable during the day.

Plus you get a separate high quality excursion with spectacular views along San Francisco Bay. This can be done before or after Alcatraz, with daily departures; no reservations required.
