Come along on a demi private tour.
After all the pick-ups, we'll begin our day in Funchal with a visit to Blandy’s Wine Lodges, one of the oldest and most prominent Madeira Wine producers on the Island. We'll tour their cellars, where you'll learn about the wine-making process and enjoy a tasting of two Madeira Fortified Wines.
Next, we'll cross the island to the North Coast, passing through the UNESCO-classified Laurissilva forest, a World Heritage site known for its lush and unique flora.
Our lunch stop will be in São Vicente, the second-largest grape-growing region in Madeira. At a local winery, you'll be served espetada—succulent, skewered beef—paired with several local wines. This authentic Madeiran meal is a rare experience you won’t find in any restaurant.
After lunch, we'll visit a breathtaking viewpoint, offering stunning panoramas of the surrounding landscape—a perfect spot for photos and to soak in the beauty of Madeira.
On our return to the south coast, we'll make a final stop at Barbeito’s, a Madeira Wine producer in Câmara de Lobos, where you’ll have the chance to taste some very special Fortified Madeira Wines.
We plan to return to Funchal around 5:00 p.m., arriving in the city centre at approximately 5:30 p.m. Throughout the tour, an expert guide in Madeira Wine will provide insights into the wine-growing region, its wines, and its rich history. All tastings will be guided to help you fully appreciate the flavours. Additionally, the wines you taste can be purchased directly from the cellars and producers we visit. The journey will be made in comfortable vans equipped with air conditioning and guided monitoring.
