What you can expect

There are some places you can’t help falling in love with at first sight and Cassis is one of them!

Your afternoon excursion to Cassis begins in Marseille where you meet your friendly tour guide. Set off for an unforgettable visit and take in the panoramic view from the Cape Canaille, the highest maritime cliff in Europe (photo stop) as you go.

Upon arriving in Cassis, enjoy a leisurely stroll around the charming old fishing port, with its vibrant, colourful boats. If you join the tour on a Wednesday, you’ll also have the opportunity to explore the local market.

You can also opt to take a one-hour cruise from Cassis to discover the stunning calanques : limestone cliffs plunging into the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean, creating picturesque natural coves.
These dramatic rock formations, resembling the jagged Norwegian fjords, stretch out into the sea (cruise ticket is not included- to buy on spot only).

Continue to Aix en Provence for the rest of the excursion. Stroll on the famous Cours Mirabeau dotted with refreshing fountains. Admire the private mansions from 17th and 18th centuries. Free time before a drive back to Marseille.

Please note: We cannot be held responsible if the Calanques cruise is cancelled due to bad weather or if the Crest road and the access to Cap Canaille are closed (no refund can be claimed).

Thoroughly enjoyed the day, wish we'd had a bit longer in each place. In Cassis Jeanne our guide arranged for discounted tickets for a boat ride. It poured in Aix but that soon cleared. Both lovely places to visit. Jeanne apologies if that's incorrect spelling, was really lovely, she was so comfortable to be with, like an old friend & taught us a lot about the area & the people.

Pelayo was great. The stops at Cassis and Aix-en-Provence were lovely. Absolutely beautiful views along the way. Our favorite was the stop at the top of the Calanques National Park to see the beaches below. Breathtaking. Our guide was very polite, gracious, informed and accommodating. Highly recommend.

Timings were not good. Arrived in Cassis 12.30 told to meet back at 2.30. Advised to take boat trip 1st if we wanted to visit Calanques but as the next boat went at 1.30 and we were told if boat was full would have to wait for next one and not prepared to loose money as we couldn’t wait for the next one. We couldn’t go on the little train as it had stopped for lunch so overall very disappointed Air con in vehicle as not good We should have returned to Marseille by 7pm but it was nearer 6pm I went with my daughter and son in law, no children Guide was good

: Very friendly guide and above all very cultured and passionate so fascinating….Unfortunately, we arrived in Cassis at lunchtime and the cruises for the creeks as well as the little train were also on break….I really regretted this bad timing ….

: The tour lived up to the value. The guide had a lot of knowledge of the city and was very friendly with the group.
