Overview

Enjoy a truly Canadian experience of driving your own dogsled through the Laurentian wilderness. From the moment you arrive at the kennel, you are greeted by the sound of the sleigh dogs who are eagerly awaiting to run! Along with your guide, you will meet your team before setting out on about a 1-hour long ride through forests, over field trails and hilly terrain with your dogs. Participants can drive their own sleigh, or ride as a passenger and switch places at the mid-point. Hot-chocolate will be served to help you warm up and give you a chance to chat with our guides and spend time with the dogs.

Know before you book

  • Not recommended for travellers with spinal injuries
  • Not recommended for pregnant travellers
  • Not recommended for travellers with poor cardiovascular health
  • Travellers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
  • Children 15 years old and under need to be accompanied by a participating adult. Participants 16-17 years old must have a parent's signature.
  • Minimum age is 3 years old
  • Max participant weight is 240 lbs. Max 450 lbs per sleigh.
  • Participants must be properly dressed. See the "What to Wear" information on the Voucher.
  • Some physical exertion is required. Occasionally drivers need to run along side the sleigh to help the dogs.
  • Minimum 2 participants.
  • Please arrive 30 minutes before the start of your dogsled excursion.
  • Client dogs not allowed on site.
  • Please bring your own helmet if you have one.
  • For the safety of all participants, our guides are responsible for assigning the sleighs, and half of the adults in your group will probably be required to drive the sleigh themselves.

Activity itinerary

As you prepare for your ride, our guide will give you a short safety briefing and some simple instructions on how to drive a team. Passengers and drivers can switch places during the excursion, but children will always be required to ride as passengers. For the safety of all participants, our guides are responsible for assigning the sleighs, and half of the adults in your group will probably be required to drive the sleigh themselves. Then you are off, mushing over valley trails with spectacular views. You will spend approximately 1 hour on the trails. When you get back to the kennel you will have the opportunity to spend some time with the dogs for treats and brushing session and if it's the right time of the season, you can even pet the puppies. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served in our yurt at the end.
