Know before you book

  • Children 17 and younger must have a parent's or guardian's permission. Children 12 and younger are not allowed to dive.
  • If you are 65 or older, you must see a qualified doctor for a medical assessment prior to scuba diving.
  • You must weigh less than 130 kg for the helicopter ride. Helicopter scenic flights are weather permitting.
  • Due to altitude, you may not fly within 24 hours of participating in this activity. Please plan accordingly
  • All divers must complete a Queensland Medical Questionnaire prior to diving, this questionnaire can be completed onboard.
  • You must be PADI certified to participate in the Certified Diving package.
  • Check-in is from 7.15am to 7.45am at Reef Fleet Terminal, 1 Spence Street, Cairns. Please make your way to the Down Under Cruise and Dive counter to check-in. Boat departs at 8am sharp and returns at 4.30pm.
  • Certain medical conditions (e.g. asthma, heart disease, diabetes) and ANY prescription medications will require a letter or email from a doctor clearing you to dive. Must state your full name, the doctor's name, practice and the clearance to dive.
  • Languages spoken onboard: English, German, Japanese and Chinese Mandarin.

What you can expect

Cruise out from the shores of Cairns for a day full of adventure on the Outer Great Barrier Reef. The speedy transfer time means you will have a huge 5 hours reef-time allowing you time for multiple water activities to get an up-close look at the incredible marine life that live in the planets most famous World Heritage Area. You will visit two outer reef locations on this reef cruise.

When you arrive at the second reef in the afternoon, Hastings Reef, you will get a quick briefing before you climb aboard a state-of-the-art helicopter, which takes you out over the ocean for a 10-minute scenic flight. Your incredible scenic flight will show you the immense scale of the reef. From the air, you can see how sea turtles, sharks, and whales all mingle among the incredible network of corals and cays.

Then it's time to re-board the luxurious super yacht. Take time to relax on the broad sundeck or gear up to dive into the warm waters of the Coral Sea to check out this vibrant world from beneath the waves. As you cruise back to Cairns, enjoy a complimentary glass of wine and a light snack as you toast to a fabulous day out on the Great Barrier Reef.

It was a great reef tour, wonderful snorkeling experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. They made sure we were safe at all time. All wet suits and snorkeling equipments were provided. Lunch and snack were not excellent but adequate and acceptable. Too bad the helicopter portion was cancelled which was a bit disappointed.

l Lovely day out on the reef. We went to 2 locations & snorkled . The staff were helpful with the gear & explained everything. It was also greatly appreciated that they kept an eye out for your safety. My only complaint was the lunch which was to be a BBQ. It was not a BBQ. The hot food was some fish &(maybe beef) which was terrible (tough & not very good). The snack for the return trip was wine, cheese, crackers. If you didn't drink wine, you were out of luck. The heli portion was cancelled so that was also too bad because that was the reason I initially booked with them.

the day was great; the dive introduction and the helicopter were amazing. However, I regret I didn't have enough time to snorkel due to the time gets really short with that many activities. I do not recommend the semi-summersible.

Very well organized. Food was excellent. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and made sure we were safe at all times. Wet suits and another type of suit also provided free of charge. The body suit was for protection from jellyfish. We appreciated that very much. It was jellyfish season (November) but we didn't see any. Still happy they had the suits. Water, coffee and tea were available for free. I would bring a water bottle to fill instead of using their cups - easier. Bring a towel. One suggestion - maybe the inside bench seats could be changed to waterproof fabric. People sat on them in their wet bathing suits in what was supposed to be the dry area. It wouldn't matter at all if the seats were waterproof - you could just dry them off. It would definitely be nicer for the crew not to have to worry about that. They have enough to do. The boat was exceptionally nice!

It was a perfect experience. They brief us for each and every one of the activities we wanted to have.We had 2 hours snorkeling at first stop at the reef , lunch, 10 minutes with the helicopter and another 2 h snorkeling at the second stops where the reef was more shallow. Snacks, water, coffee and fruits. It was wonderful .

This was one of the best days of my life. Definitely worth the $300 I paid. The instructors are very nice the day was amazing. I enjoyed the scuba diving way more then the helicopter ride. The lunch was good. We also got a free glass of wine at the end of the day
