You will pass Mathale en-route Kandy. Mathale is well known as the best place to grow Sri Lankan spices. This will be a guided tour to see all the spices / plants available here. They will explain about each species. Will be a good opportunity for you to get insight of this industry. This is an optional visit and you can avoid if you do not like to do.

Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a Buddhist temple in the city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and is a World Heritage Site mainly due to the temple.

After Kandy Lake, you will next visit Kandy View Point. This is a nice spot from which you can observe Kandy City. It is a few metres away from the lake. Kandy View Point should be included in any Kandy Tour itinerary.

Your next destination is Bahirawakanda Temple. The giant Buddha statue in this temple will definitely draw people to this place. Someone also calls this “Sri Maha Bodhi Viharaya’. Its massive statue stands 25 metres tall and can be climbed to the top. This is another great vantage point to observe Kandy. We can skip this if you are not interested.

In the evening, you will watch the Kandy Cultural Dance Show. It is organised by the Kandy Lake Club, where you can see many traditional dances. These dances can also be seen at the Kandy Esala Perahera festival. You will be lucky to see some of those dances outside the festival.

After the cultural dance show, based on the time left, your final destination will be the City Shopping Complex. Here, you will participate in a shopping experience.
