The sunrise will be on the east side, so I suggest sitting on the drivers side for an unobstructed view of the morning sun. Your hike will start as soon as we arrive! El Morro serves as a unique historical record of the travellers who journeyed along the east-west trail, leaving behind glimpses of their stories etched on the sandstone cliff. The carvings, symbols, names, and dates offer a fascinating insight into the individuals who sought respite at the oasis and a tangible connection to the past for modern visitors exploring the site. After a 1 to 2 hour hike a fresh deli packed lunch will be served. Next Zuni Village!
