Nami Island and the Garden of Morning Calm are both must-see attractions for all first-time visitors to Korea.
Nami Island is especially famous for its winter scenes, since the K-Drama “Winter Sonata” was filmed there.
63 km away from Seoul in the direction of Chuncheon and 30 minutes away from Chuncheon, the island is best known for its secluded, tree-lined paths.

The Garden of Morning Calm
This is a great spot to visit for families, couples, and photographers alike. The garden was conceptualized by Professor Han Sang-kyung. His vision was to create an arboretum that would make Korean aesthetics world-famous. The name comes from a poem written by Sir Tagore, a great Indian poet, who described Korea during the Joseon Dynasty as “The Land of the Morning Calm.” Flowers are in bloom from March to November, so the garden is usually busy during this period. In addition to the beautiful foliage, there are a variety of festivals and displays held throughout the year.
