Castle was good, not too much to see inside because it's a ruins. Overall tour was very short and hurried along. If you wanted to walk around town then no time for lunch and vice versa. If we could have another hour or so to walk and have lunch that would be better

I would definitely recommend this tour. Heidelberg is a beautiful little town, and the castle was beautiful. The tour mentions Heidelberg castle, and wine barrel so for those of you that think you’ll maybe get to do some winetasting, that doesn’t happen. They did have a wine bar, but it wasn’t open at the time that we went for the tour. Please note, if you get Peter as your tour guide he doesn’t like the AC on for the drive to, and from the castle Lol!

The whole trip was enjoyable. Peter was great in giving historical facts without bombarding with dates. The trip could be an hour longer to enjoy the town a little bit more. We had to rush because the bus was needed for another trip.

It's the closest and most affordable castle tour near Frankfurt. The castle itself is a castle ruin, so there wasn't a ton of "castley" things to see inside like weapon rooms or throne rooms, that kind of thing. We only got to see the terrace (great view), apothecary museum, and wine barrel. There is a guided tour of the inside, but this tour package does not include that part. If you want a 'taste' of a castle and the town of Heidelberg, this is a good tour. But if you want a more extensive castle experience and/or more time in the town of Heidelberg, then it might be possible take this tour INTO town but arrange your own way back to Frankfurt by train.

Sunday so there was no traffic. Guide was funny but did not explained anything at all, he let us walk free in the town and just told us to return at a specific hour. The town was really pretty, the castle was not worth the visit I think, but as an overall tour it was just OK

This was a very enjoyable day trip out of Frankfurt. Heidelberg is a beautiful city. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, and wasn’t in a rush. We had time after the castle visit to walk about town and grab lunch.
