THIS TOUR IS A MUST FOR HISTORY BUFFS!

When planning a trip to Arizona, a visit to Jerome and the Verde Valley are a “must do”. Recently voted as one of “America’s Coolest Small Towns” by BudgetTravel.com readers, the former mining town of Jerome is one of the most popular sites in Northern Arizona to visit. On this 4 ½ hour tour, our guide will pick you up at your hotel, resort, timeshare in Sedona, Cottonwood or Jerome in one of our comfortable, climate-controlled vans. While your guide narrates the rich history of the Verde Valley, you will travel through historic Cottonwood, once called the “Bootleg Capital of Arizona” for good reason as you will learn.

Pros: Tour guide drove a large van very well and safely. Shared interesting information Brought us to locations we may not have found on our own. Was flexible when lunch was running late Cons A lot of in and out of the van around 7-10 in and out if that’s difficult for you. Van was in running order but seats were broken/spring on seat were flat, door wasn’t able to open from outside, large chunks of paint missing and overall dirty Difficult for all parties hear the tour, guide kept forgetting the microphone Not kid friendly, driver doesn’t care for kids and it stressed me out keeping my solo 5yr old child from annoying the guide. Tour guide is probably more interested in ghosts and hauntings as he was much more detailed and descriptive in the haunted hotel. We were more interested in the history and he was light on information regarding the Native American details, told some incorrect information. Overall the area is very interesting and it was a really great day.

Our tour guide was great. Very knowledgeable about Jerome and the surrounding areas. We had a small group which was great. Being hard if hearing this made it easier having limited people.

My husband, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law have been to Jerome several times but did not know much about the town and surrounding area. We decided to take a tour with an established tour operator and picked the Historic Tour of Jerome based on the comments from past clients. We were very pleased with our choice. Jason, our tour guide and driver, provided us with interesting information not only about Jerome, but Cottonwood, Cornville, and Clarkdale as well. Jason also suggested we visit some ancient Indian ruins outside of Flagstaff, which we plan on doing before leaving the area. We enjoyed our tour and would highly recommend the Historic Tour of Jerome to anyone interested in local history.
