What you can expect

Explore the most famous sights of ancient Greece on a full-day guided tour of Delphi from Athens with a zero carbon footprint. Learn about the Oracle, explore ancient ruins, such as the amphitheatre and the Temple of Apollo, and ignite your imagination with the mythology of Delphi.

Depart from Athens and travel to Delphi, located on the spur of Mount Parnassus. On your way, admire the Greek countryside and cross into the land of King Oedipus, a tragic mythical hero whose fate was determined after receiving a message from the Oracle from Delphi.

Enjoy a relaxing coffee break in Livadia before arriving in Delphi. On arrival, visit the theatre and enjoy the views of the surrounding mountains. Gain insight into the world of the Ancient Greeks as you step onto the Temple of Apollo and learn all about common ancient rituals.

Next, discover the stories behind some of the most important artefacts of antiquity in the Museum of Delphi. Marvel at the unique bronze charioteer, the Naxian Sphinx, and the Statue of Antinoos, which provide insight into ancient Greek culture and history.

After a lunch break, visit the Athena Pronaia Sanctuary, the most photographed spot in Delphi. Head back to Athens via the beautiful mountain village of Arachova, situated on the hills of the Parnassus Mountains, where the tour will stop for a short photo opportunity.

43 people on the tour , treated like cattle and squeezed from one place to another . There were over six buses packed full of people doing the exact same thing at the exact same time . Our guide told us he was a historian. I think he was a great historian but a terrible tour guide . At one point someone had to call out that he had left someone in the coffee shop . The bus was leaving the car park ,and the bus driver had to slam on the breaks . The guide didn’t even know there was someone missing . He never once waited for the group to catch up with him and we listened through an earpiece to him talking in broken English , the static from the earpiece was intense and his heavy breathing as he walked up the hill was sometimes to much to listen to . There was so much people on this tour I could hardly find my guide and he never once waited for the group to catch up . I did not enjoy my trip at all . Delphi was a magical place to visit but we only had around 25 minutes free time

Demetrius was our tour guide to Delphi. He was knowledgeable and informative. It takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours to get to Delphi from Athens and maybe a little less coming back so the time you actually spend there is not very long. On our way there, he gave us a history lesson on Delphi and Athens, which, in my opinion, was a little long. Once you arrive and he concludes his portion of the tour, you have approximately 35 minutes to do your picture-taking and walking around before meeting him at the museum. Delphi had some sights to see like the temple of Apollo, a stadium, an odeon, and a couple of treasury houses. It is located on the slope of a mountain so the views are beautiful. He gave us an audio box and earphone to listen to him but sometimes it was difficult to hear him and the signal would give out as well. The museum is small but interesting. We didn't purchase the lunch with the tour.

Our tour guide Marianna was very knowledgeable on the history of Athens and Delphi. Her wisdom on art and history is to be applauded. I just wish the people in our tour group appreciated her and tipped her and the driver!!! These people work hard and need to be appreciated!

The tour itself was worth going to when you are in Athens. The tour bus is comfortable. The tour guide Merina was awesome, knowledgeable of the history of Delphi and shared other information as we drove to visit the site. The driver Thomas was skilled and I felt comfortable in the bus. I was in awe with the site and the museum.

Our driver and tour guide were absolutely fantastic! Three lunch included portion of the tour, however, was not great. The food was cold and the options were extremely limited. The site was great. And the drive, thanks to a rock slide, was spectacular as we traveled near the coast.
