Meet your guide in Puerto Vallarta and board a boat headed for the Marietas Islands. Before you reach the shore, cruise around the islands that make up the national park, keeping your eyes peeled for unique bird species and wildlife. As you float, your guide educates you about the astounding biodiversity that exists on and around the shores.

Soon, make your way to Lovers' Beach, a hidden cove nestled in one of the island's craters. The beach is accessible through a short tunnel on the ocean side of the crater—equip your snorkelling gear and hop into the water to swim from the boat. You emerge on the other side of the tunnel at a beautiful beach walled on every side by round crater walls.

On the return to Puerto Vallarta, be on the lookout for the humpback whales that migrate through the area during the winter. Catch sight of the majestic creatures breaching the surface, or watch for the flip of a fin. Once you've reached shore, you're taken back to your starting point.
