Quasano
  • 3h
During the walking excursion we will have the opportunity to visit this small village which still houses the remains of the Masseria del Barone, an ancient place of transhumance and its monumental Tree of the Lie. Then climbing the panoramic hill overlooking the sea, we will enter the oak woods that surround this well-known holiday resort: an important ecosystem, habitat for various species of mammals such as the wild boar and its natural predator, diurnal and nocturnal birds of prey, reptiles such as the green lizard, amphibians, insects such as dragonflies and fireflies, and spontaneous plants such as typical Mediterranean aromatic herbs and numerous species of orchids, some of which are very rare. We will explore the characteristic karst blades of the Apulian landscape within which we will find the ruins of ancient farms and jazzi, places of pastoral tradition where even today one immediately has the sensation of retracing the steps of the people who lived in these places a few years ago.
