Overview

A sunrise meditation hike along the San Jacinto Mountains steps from Palm Springs to a resting spot with dramatic views of the Coachella Valley. You'll watch the sun rise over Indian Canyons and come together in guided meditation setting a grounded intention for the day.

We'll greet each other at the South Lykken trailhead. As we hike the trail about a mile to our meditation spot, we'll listen to the natural beauty of Oswitz Canyon. I'll lead you through a grounding meditation to help you set your intention for the day, acknowledging your connection to the Earth and the universe.

Guests will walk away with stunning photos. Feeling relaxed and rejuvenated, you'll have a grounded connection to the environment, a clear mind, and an open heart. We will hear the sounds of the earth. We will see the colours of the planet. We will breathe the essence of being. We will see the universe in motion. The morning sun will expose our shadows. If the stars agree, we will see big horn sheep.

Know before you book

Activity itinerary

There is a 750-foot elevation gain over one mile, with a trail grade of 25% to 35% in some locations. You will walk no more than a mile to our meditation spot, and the total hike will be no more than 3 miles. While the trail is considered “moderate” in difficulty and distance, someone who is relatively physically fit might find the trail “moderately challenging” at some points. Group, Private, and Custom hike options are available. Group hikes may include multiple parties. Private hikes are limited to your party. The custom hike and meditation option includes a custom meditation and spirit animal oracle card reading.

Beautiful sunrise hike, we started in the moonlight and ended in sunrise. Our guide Timothy was knowledgeable and truly a gem to hike with. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for beauty and peace in the Palm Desert 😊.

The hike and meditation were so great. I’m not normally an early morning person but it was so worth it. We got to see/hear a few animals which was great. Watching the sunrise and seeing all the different colors that the mountains shown during the sunrise was breathtaking. The guide was awesome and a great communicator. He took time and went at a nice pace with stops to take in the views. The hike was a little steep but only about a mile up and it wasn’t too difficult with the breaks.

We thoroughly enjoyed this day. Throughout the hike, our guide Timothy, provided us with interesting information about the area, the geology, and the climate (we were in the middle of a heat wave) as we made our way up. We started in the dark, at 5:30 am, as the sun rose, and the landscape changed colors every few minutes. Sunrise at the top - spectacular! We will enlarge pictures of my husband and I standing on a large rock at silhouettes against the rising sun. Timothy's mediation guide was chock full of inspiring images and peaceful affirmations - we loved it. What a great start to our day.

Wonderful hike. With the early morning hike and terrain, Timothy was patient and took mindful breaks for our group. Made it to the top just in time for the sunrise and views of the local mountain goats. Finished off with with a group meditation before our descend back down.
