What you can expect
Day 1:
Discover Angkor Wat with an experienced tour guide and wake to the sunrise for a ride through the city centre. Depart at 4:40 am by private transport with an English-speaking tour guide to watch the sunrise at Angkor Wat temple. Once there, explore the whole entire building of Angkor Wat temple and get some amazing pictures before arrival of crowd. Then have short break in the village for a local breakfast that you can enjoy of taste authentic Cambodian breakfast that prepared by local family host in an support to the local community through tourism. Then, find yourself at a traditional village of Phum Preah Dak, where you can see the classic Cambodian-style house and watch the local people who make palm cake for a living.
Continue your tour with a local guide to explore the jungle temple of Ta Prohm and Ta Nei which has been left in its original state and is partly overgrown with trees and huge roots. Then go to visit the Victory gate of Angkor Thom to marvel at the Bayon and Baphoun temples with their 54 towers and 216 faces of Buddhisatva Avalokesvara. Listen as your guide explains historical facts about the Temples and the Khmer empire. the Terrace of the Elephant and the Terrace of the Leper King known as the royal viewing platform and the stage of the king’s great audience hall.
Day 2:
You will be picked up from your hotel at between 8:00 am via a private A/C vehicle to Phnom Kulen National Park. This journey takes you through rural Cambodian villages, where you may observe locals going about their everyday lives and admire beautiful landscapes such as rice paddies and traditional dwellings. Stop at the most authentic village of Banteay Srei, where you can learn how the local people make palm sugar and visit the Cambodian Landmine museum.
Afterwards, we continue to the hilltop of Phnom Kulen, and our knowledgeable local guide will take you to the most spectacular tourist attractions in the national park, including the largest and most beautiful waterfalls, the reclining Buddha sculpture, and the River of Thousand Linga, which was constructed in 802 AD. After all the crawling, we stop for lunch at a local restaurant, where you can enjoy Cambodian food.
After having a great lunch, then we'll go directly to the the Kampong Phluk, flooded & fishing village of Tonle Sap lake, located just 21 kilometres from Siem Reap town. Once in the lake port, we'll take a local boat from the ferry to explore the famous floating villages of Kampong Phluk. There, you can see first-hand what everyday life is like for the many families who make their living primarily from fishing. Most families live on the lake shore in brightly coloured houses on long poles, so the high water levels are not a problem during the rainy season. Enjoy seeing the sunset from a local boat on Tonle Sap Lake.
