You will depart from your hotel in Luang Prabang and head off downhill by bicycle to the dock. Here you will board a boat to go across the mighty Mekong River to Ban Xieng Man village. Once arriving, you will continue onwards by bicycle to Ban Na Kham, which is locally well-known for its sugarcane growing and also ‘Kaolam’ a stunning dish made from sticky rice and coconut milk cooked in bamboo! Here you will take some time to look around and perhaps also taste this delicious snack before moving onwards once again to reach Ban Houay Tan, an ethnic Khmu village, then to Ban Som and finally Ban Na where you will have time for well-prepared lunch.
After having lunch and enjoying some relaxing time, you will head off to discover the village together with its surroundings. Here you will observe people doing their daily activities and working in the huge rice fields etc. After taking some time to look around, you will carry onwards once more to Ban Chan Neua, a small village very famous for its beautiful pottery and jar making! After seeing the age-old tradition of jar making, you will voyage across the Mekong River once again on a small fishing boat which takes you back to civilisation in Luang Prabang. Depending on how energetic you are feeling, the final leg of the journey may be a short bike ride or push up the hill which brings you back to where you began and concludes the adventurous day.
