What you can expect

Discover the beauty and volcanic fury of Hawai'i Island, the youngest island in the Hawaiian chain as you fly over one of the most geologically active environments on earth. Catch a glimpse of lava flows and see black-sand beaches from above on this tour voted the “World's Best Helicopter Thrill” by the Travel Channel.

Take off from the Waikoloa heliport and fly out over what is often referred to as the most geologically active setting on the planet, the famous Kilauea volcano at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. This intriguing volcano has been continuously erupting since 1983 creating more than 875 acres of new land. A bucket-list item for many, the chance to view, makes it one of the most popular attractions in Hawaii.

Witness the wet tropical lush rainforests along the Hamakua coastline which capture almost 80 inches of rainfall a year. Travel along towering sea cliffs that boarder the deep, meandering valleys of the Kohala mountains. Dramatic waterfalls cascade thousands of feet into the forest below, heading out to the sea, and remnants of ancient Hawaiian settlements are still visible in the area.

Before returning, take in Waipio Valley, the childhood home of King Kamehameha I. Surrounded by cliffs up to 2000 feet high, view the ancient taro fields with rivers permeating the valley. Enjoy the multitude of cascading waterfalls and serene landscape of the mile-wide valley.

Blue Hawaiian’s fleet consists of the best touring helicopters in the industry. While cutting flight noise by around 50 percent over the isle’s delicate ecologies, the Eco-Star also pampers you in serene comfort and opens up wide-screen views never before seen from a helicopter. The custom upgraded VIP interior has all forward-facing seats with 180 degree views & “theatre-style” platform in rear seating. The advanced 4-camera in-flight video system capturing pilot narration and cinematic music choreographed to scenery is available for viewing and purchase after your flight. A perfect keep-sake to remember your flight and share with friends back home.
