Stayed here over a Christmas Addo visit with my mother. The location is ideal for visiting Addo - you're about a 15 minute drive from the entrance to the park.
Small, family run operation. Friendly enough staff. Rooms well appointed, very spacious, toiletries were lovely too. Wifi slow but good if you go near the breakfast area.
Biggest complaint is over breakfast and kitchen facilities - breakfast is ONLY served from 7:30am to 8:30am so if you're on vacation and want to sleep in a little like my mother, or if you're an early bird like me, tough luck.
The coffee served at breakfast was terrible, and if you want to brew your own in the kitchen (instant coffee is provided in the room but I'd rather drink actual dirt) well, you're out of luck because they lock the kitchen. When I ask the owner about this later in the day he says "You should have come and told us, we would have unlocked!" Sure, let me just go wake up strangers at 6 am.
And when they say 7:30 to 8:30, they will actually take your plate away from you at 8:30. So EAT FAST.
Tried to make us dinner at night. Well, there are no knives, not a pot to cook in, and a lot of buckets but no trash can. On morning #2 I got the kitchen unlocked for proper coffee, found one broken french press.
They mean well (I think... they talked to me like I'm a teenager even though I'm in my mid-30s and was the one paying for the room) and run a sweet little operation, but in my opinion it's overpriced for what it is.
