They sent us to a different hotel and it didn’t have any of the amenities we paid for so we canceled the booking and asked for a refund and they still haven’t gotten back to us

Well located city centre hotel
Good located modern hotel. Right in the centre of Amsterdam with space to park bikes outside. Reception was very attentive. Rooms very clean but not the most spacious. Good for a short stay.

Glad we stayed here
Great location, clean, and nice staff. The coffee machine in lobby awesome. Beds comfy. Quiet and great sleep. Only not living the lack of privacy with bathroom- toilet/ shower frosted glass, and was mom traveling with teen boys… but still great place to stay!

Staff were friendly and very helpful. The rooms are clean. Just note the bathrooms are frosted glass so if you are just friends sharing it can be a little awkward when using the bathroom. We just made sure we did not look while the other was in there. There are tons of great restaurants around the hotel and it is a very safe and walkable area.

The hotel room felt more like a prison cell. We were allocated a room below ground - which ironically enough after taking a lift down 1 floor we still had to go UP some stairs to get to our below-ground room; absolute madness! The room was terribly small, not particularly clean and basically helped me understand what prison inmates experience. There was a window far up out of reach which barely revealed the street level outside, but the view would be of people's feet at most - you basically felt cut off from society based on the view. Water pipes for the building run directly behind the paper-thin walls of the room; you can hear anyone showering or flushing their toilets, realising that sewage was running through a pipe just literally behind where you're sleeping - utter revolting. The paper thin walls allowed us to hear the noise made by all the other rooms on the floor. But the worst part of all the noise was the metal grating just outside the building where you could hear the magnified sounds of water drops when it was raining. If it rains at night, good luck trying to sleep through the sound of water dropping onto a metal plate, and through the sound of people flushing their toilets. Our room was lacking amenities - the kettle's lid was broken, and the kettle itself was dirty. Our room for 2 people only came with 1 cup - when we raised this with the reception desk they said they ran out of cups. It's a cheap $1 cup from Ikea, how can you run out of these?!

The rooms are small, but that’s typical for Europe. The bed was good, shower was great. Location was perfect: near a tram stop, easy walk to Anne Frank House and other sights, and close to restaurants.

We enjoyed our stay at the Melrose. The location was very central so we were able to walk to Amsterdam Central as well as to the museums. There was coffee in the lobby in the morning and the staff were quick to help out with any questions.

Excellent hotel on a terrific central location. As with most hotels in central Amsterdam the room and bathrooms are small but it does have an elevator. The lobby is clean and modern and has free coffee early and late in the day. Hotel staff was very helpful in booking tickets and taxis.

Location is good with many walkable options for food and shopping. The room itself lacks a lot with a strange glassed in bathroom that isn't private from the room at all. The room is very basic also. I wouldn't recommend a stay here.

The hotel is in very nice location close to everything 10-25 minutes walk very nice neighborhood. A few cafes steps away from hotel , little boutiques and shops on the same street. Albert Heijn Supermarket conveniently across the street. A couple a minute walk to tram stations. I would recommend the hotel for a few night stay although the rooms are very small and no refrigerator and the windows were not opening to get some fresh air. Upon arrival the room smelled funky. Very helpful reception area.

Melrose Hotel was pretty central to most attractions and places to eat. 20 minutes walking to some. But walking to end of road, able to use the number 17 Tram to where you wanted. Make sure you have your bank card/visa etc as no cash on trams.
