"My extended family spent the weekend celebrating my dad’s 90th birthday at Oslo Mountainside Retreat. The house was perfect for our needs. Everyone loved it. There was plenty of room to spread out. The kids were entertained. The views were gorgeous. The house was super clean and had everything we needed. Jason, our host, was so helpful and reassuring. When I was having trouble finding a birthday cake, he picked one up for me and brought it to the house.The house and Jason exceeded our expectations. "The cabin was beautiful with great views from the full wall of windows! Everything was clean and everything we needed for our stay was there and as expected. Some small maintenance items were pointed out to the owner but nothing that impacted our stay. The furniture and beds were comfortable and exceeded our expectations. This property is easy to access and close to the main road with a gravel driveway and sign pointing us in the right direction which helped. It rained on us most of the time we were there so we didn't get to spend much time outside but if you're planning some outdoor activities, it might be important to note that the back yard is quite steep (it's in the mountains after all so to be fair, everything is steep in that area) so not much level ground for the cornhole game or things like that. Also, the fabric on the hammocks could use a little TLC, since they stay outside they are a bit dirty, again, to be expected but good to know if you're planning on jumping directly into them upon arrival. The town of Jasper is only about a 5 minute drive (very curvy roads here so beware) and is absolutely adorable. The people are friendly and the food is good. Visit the pizza place but go early, they tend to sell out and they told us it's a three day process to make the dough! It's sooo good! Lots of local hiking and trails to keep you occupied on your visit. Overall, this was an amazing stay and we hope to visit again in the future! "
