My wife and I stayed at this hotel early December as part of a break to visit the Christmas Markets - exemplary customer service at all times, thoughtful and supportive staff, lovely/well equipped room, very clean and comfortable. Lovely location with only a short walk to the centre (trams and buses stop outside the hotel if you do not wish to walk the short distance). After many years of business travel and many stays around the world, the service at this hotel was nothing less than exceptional. Our thanks to the dedicated staff and their exemplary customer focus and making our stay an absolute pleasure.

This may have been my best hotel stay to date. Traveling from the US to visit the Basel Christmas markets and Hotel Spalentor was centrally located, easy to find, staff was lovely and incredibly helpful, room was beyond expectations, complimentary breakfast had a wide offering and was nicely done - it was a wonderful stay!

The staff here are so polite and nice and the room we had was lovely. The hotel is conveniently located just outside the old town, and one can walk to the cathedral in under 15 minutes. One perk that we didn't get to utilize was the free tram/bus tickets that are included with the hotel price. If you plan on exploring Basel, this is a great feature. Overall we loved the hotel; we really had no complaints and would easily stay there again in the future.

Very happy with our stay
Upgraded to a comfort room and offered late check-out, both of which we very much appreciated. The front desk staff are friendly and courteous. The hotel location provides immediate access to the old part of the city and is no more than 10 minutes' walk from the centre.

Close to local bars / restaurants, access to transport links. Large, spacious rooms, small bathroom, no air conditioning, warm at night. Opened the windows but noisy street below, traffic until the early hours. Good breakfast buffet, plenty of choice but some items cold (hash browns) omelette not always available.

Absolutely loved this hotel. The front desk staff are so friendly and helpful. The room was large and the bed was the most comfortable of all the places we stayed in Europe. Great breakfast. A very convenient location to walk to old town and easy to access the transit system as well.
