Room was clean and staff was good. Tried to book directly with hotel and transfered to an overseas phone center and they tried to upsell me on a room. 50 bucks a night cheaper through Expedia. 1st night there the room didn't have hot water though that was fixed by next night. Room was noisy with the heating system clanging and banging and could hear our neighbors blow their nose.

Here is my situation with them. I booked a hotel with expedia and prepaid the reservation and then the hotel charged me on my last day the same amount. After hours of talking to them that they have charged my card they first denied it and then said since expedia has not paid us we charged your card!!!!! It is clear that the issue between them and Expedia has nothing to do with me. The most unprofessional treatment I have ever seen and i had to contact my bank fraud department to pursue the case. Still has not yet received the refund which was a very large amount after a week.

Beautiful view
The downtown location is convenient but tricky for parking. A parking structure is available. An outdoor lot is situated on a one way street adjacent to another lot, which looks like one large lot without close inspection; be careful because if you drive into the wrong one, the street is one direction in the wrong direction. The hotel employees were discussing pay--underpay. I didn't realize I needed to swipe my room key to operate the elevator and rode the elevator a half floor three times before an employee in a suit clarified the situation for me. Thecbrick facade in the room is a facade covering popcorn walls. The room was narrow but clean and comfortable. It had a mini fridge and a coffee pot with tea and coffee pods. I did not try the hotel upstairs, but my husband says room service delivers good food. The view outside my window was both city and the rimrock mountainous terrain, beautiful!

The best part of this Doubletree was the staff. All our staff interaction from the front desk to the restaurant was wonderful and friendly. Conveniently located in downtown Billings it is walkable to explore downtown. There was recent parking lot construction that we didn't know about and couldn't park in the lot. Normally would not be an issue and we would park in the parking garage but we had kayaks on top of our vehicle. So that was a challenge to find parking nearby but the security staff walks the perimeter of the property to watch over guest vehicles which is great. The lobby is clean and modern, however the elevators had a faint smell of smoker residue, which we found in the room as well. The rooms look like they need a good renovation as well. The carpet and the bathroom especially. But it wasn't horrible. The beds were clean and comfy with various firmness of pillows provided. The top floor restaurant has spectacular views of the city. And the food both for dinner and breakfast was amazing!

Parking was difficult; driving into entrance impossible due to 1 way. First checking in took along time. At one time, 3 people working at desk would not acknowledge my presence for over 2 minutes. No one else was in line!
